American Airlines Flight 3023 never left the ground after its landing gear failed during the takeoff run at Denver International Airport.

The flight was scheduled to travel from Denver to Miami on July 26, 2025, using a Boeing 737-8.

At around 90 to 100 knots, the pilots heard a loud sound and felt the aircraft move abruptly to the left.

The crew rejected the takeoff above 80 knots as the aircraft became difficult to control.

Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian flydubai pilot injured during the altercation aboard flight FZ1073, is in good health and recovering well, according to the Indian Embassy in the UAE.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal visited Machchhar and his family in Dubai, reassuring them of the Indian government’s full support for his wellbeing and recovery.

Machchhar was injured on September 30 when the Dubai to Tel Aviv flight was diverted to Saudi Arabia following an incident in the flight deck.

Ambassador Mittal said Indian missions remain in close contact with UAE authorities and praised Machchhar for demonstrating “great bravery and courage in an exemplary manner.” He added that India is “proud of its brave son” as investigations into the incident continue.

UAE’s cooler weather has brought back outdoor adventures in Fujairah. 🏔️🌿 All officially approved trails have reopened for the 2026–27 season, with hiking, camping and mountain biking now available.
