Etihad Rail has initiated the prequalification process for the high-speed rail project in the UAE.

MEED provided exclusive coverage on the construction plans for the country’s high-speed railway network in early September. The trains are designed to achieve a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour (km/h), with an operational speed of 320 km/h.

Etihad Rail will oversee a $2.3 billion railway project in Jordan, aimed at improving the mining and transportation industries in the country. An incredible new train line costing almost £200billion is the second biggest construction project in the world.

The Gulf Railway in the Middle East is a proposed rail system connecting the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The 1,353-mile line will connect Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
