“When the sac shows… but no baby yet. The hardest part of scanning? Holding space for hope — and the unknown.”

A Sac… But No Baby Yet
She came in smiling, 7 weeks by her count.
We started the scan.
The screen showed a round black circle — the gestational sac.
But no fetal pole. No heartbeat. No visible baby.

🧠 Womb Facts:
By 7 weeks, we usually expect to see a fetal pole — the first visible structure of the embryo.
But variations happen. Dates may be off.
Sometimes, we wait and rescan in a week.
Other times… we prepare for loss.

Whatever the case, scans don’t just show images.
They show emotions, possibilities — and the strength it takes to wait.

🌱 Month 1: Weeks 1–4

Nickname: "The Secret is Cooking"

Baby = smaller than a grain of rice 🍚

No bump, just hormones going wild.

Implantation happens! That’s when baby sticks to the uterus like, “I'm staying here for 9 months!”
🎯 Did you know? You’re already considered 2 weeks pregnant the day you ovulate!

💡 Month 2: Weeks 5–8

Nickname: "The Blueprint Phase"

Tiny heart starts beating at week 6 💓

Baby has a tail (yes, like a tadpole!)

Nausea hits... and cravings begin 🍋🍫
🎯 Ultrasound shows a yolk sac, then the fetal pole!

🧠 Month 3: Weeks 9–12

Nickname: "Tiny Human, Big Moves"

Baby has eyes, nose, lips — and fingerprints!

Starts doing somersaults in the womb 🤸

First real scan — hello heartbeat on Doppler!
🎯 By 12 weeks, the risk of miscarriage drops significantly.

🤰 Month 4: Weeks 13–16

Nickname: "Gender Whispers"

Baby starts sucking thumb, making faces

External genitalia forming — gender may be visible!

Belly starts to show 👀
🎯 Some mums feel the first tiny flutters: “Is that gas… or baby?”

💃 Month 5: Weeks 17–20

Nickname: "Now You Can Feel Me!"

Kicks get stronger!

Detailed anatomy scan done at 20 weeks

Gender usually confirmed 🎉
🎯 Baby can hear voices and loud music — yes, talk to them!
