Dubai Police have issued a warning about a fake "Consumer Protection" link being used by scammers to defraud victims. Consumers searching for a site to lodge a complaint are instead directed to a fake one, which scammers exploit to their advantage.

Scammers then ask victims to download remote access software that enables them to view the victims' phone screens, steal confidential banking information, and use it to transfer funds or make unauthorised purchases.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has appointed Mohammed Saeed Rashid Al Shehhi as Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, with the rank of Ministry Undersecretary.

As Secretary-General of the National Media Authority, he will be responsible to the Chairman of the Authority for shaping, evaluating, and monitoring the UAE's media narrative, in order to enhance the UAE's reputation and positive image.

He will also be responsible for foreseeing media crises the UAE may face, and for supervising the preparation of the Authority's policies, strategies, and legislation related to organising and developing the national media sector in the country, as well as licensing media outlets and media activities.

He will also supervise the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and oversee the registration and accreditation of journalists and correspondents from foreign media outlets in the state, including in the free zones.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), has issued a resolution establishing a specialised court to adjudicate human trafficking crimes in Abu Dhabi.

The court shall have jurisdiction over all human trafficking cases arising within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The resolution also requires all courts currently hearing human trafficking cases to refer them to the newly established court, unless pleadings have already been closed, ensuring that all such cases are handled within a specialised judicial framework.
