Ceado has been named the official grinder sponsor of the World Barista Championship for 2026 and 2027.

For the next two seasons, every competitor will grind on the same two machines.

The REV Zero is designed to reduce retention, so less old coffee stays inside the grinder between shots.

The E37Z Naked focuses on burr stability and precise adjustment, so the grind setting stays consistent.

At competition level, small differences in grind can affect the cup.

Sunny George is a small café in Kyoto. It was built by Christopher Flechtner, the designer behind Slayer Espresso. The most beautiful espresso machine in the world.

If you’ve ever stood in front of a Slayer, you know what I mean.

Chris has translated that same care for materials, touch, and use into a physical space. One I can’t wait to visit.

I spoke to him about designing Slayer, building Sunny George, and why making fewer choices often leads to better ones
