A nebula can resemble the structure of an eye. A spiral galaxy can resemble a hurricane. Some cosmic structures can remind us of the double helix of DNA. The branching patterns of leaves resemble the intricate lines found across the human hand.

These aren't literally the same structures—and they don't prove that one object scientifically created another.

But they raise a fascinating question:

Why do similar patterns and forms appear across completely different parts of nature?

The Qur'an reminds us:

“Have you not seen how Allah created the heavens and the earth?”
— Qur'an 14:32

And:

“He created everything and determined it with precise determination.”
— Qur'an 25:2

The Mountains Refused… But You Accepted
The Qur’an describes something extraordinary: the Amānah — the Trust.

Allah offered this Trust to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and feared its burden. Then humanity accepted it.

What exactly is this Trust?

It represents a profound responsibility placed upon human beings — the ability to choose, to obey, to disobey, and to willingly turn toward Allah.

Every time you resist a temptation, choose truth over comfort, or pray when you are exhausted, you are living with that responsibility.

Red, White, Then Darkness — A Hadith Described This 1,400 Years Ago
Did you know that stars can appear in different colors depending on their temperature?

Hotter stars appear white or blue, while cooler stars appear yellow, orange, or red. As temperature changes, the color of a glowing object changes as well.

Then there is a remarkable description in Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2591, in which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described Hellfire as being burned for thousands of years until it became **red, then white, and finally dark**.

The color sequence is fascinating to compare with what we observe about heated objects and stars—but the hadith is describing Hellfire, not stars.

A reminder that the descriptions in Islamic tradition can inspire deep reflection on fire, heat, and the unseen.

Can Bones Really Turn Into Stone? The Quran Says Something Remarkable
What happens to bones after a body is buried for thousands of years?

In Surah Al-Isra 17:49–51, the Qur'an describes people questioning how they could be brought back to life after their bones decay. They even ask whether they could become stones or iron.

Modern geology shows that, under certain conditions, buried bones can undergo fossilization and mineral replacement. Groundwater carrying dissolved minerals can gradually alter the original bone material, sometimes producing stone-like fossilized remains over extremely long periods. Some fossilized bones can also contain iron-bearing minerals.

The science of fossilization gives us another reason to reflect on the Qur'anic question: what happens to us after our bodies return to the earth?

How can lifeless matter become a living human being?

Your body is made from atoms and elements such as hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus—the same fundamental elements found throughout the non-living world.

Yet these atoms are organized into an extraordinary living system that can breathe, think, experience consciousness, and ask questions about its own existence.

Science calls the study of how life could have arisen from non-living matter abiogenesis. But the exact origin of the first life remains an open scientific question.

The Qur'an asks:
