Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled plans for the Dubai photography museum which will feature an extensive collection documenting the rich history of photography while celebrating both local and international talent.

The museum is a collaborative project between Dubai Culture and the private sector, aimed at enhancing the emirate’s role as a major hub for the global visual arts community. This initiative supports the goals of the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, the cultural and heritage strategies within Dubai Plan 2030, and Dubai Culture's commitment to protecting both tangible and intangible cultural assets.

Additionally, it comes at a moment when the global photography market is projected to reach $62.4 billion by 2027, and when museums are playing a key role in job creation, with more than 1.5m people employed in related fields globally.
