Cost-of-living anger is spilling onto the streets across Europe.
Protests over rising prices, housing pressures and public services have turned violent in parts of France and Italy, with masked demonstrators reportedly looting shops, setting fires and clashing with police.

French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the violence, while Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that demonstrating is a right, but destroying cities is not. The unrest highlights growing public frustration over the cost of essentials, housing and living standards.
