BOTEJYU : is a Japanese restaurant chain originating from Osaka, Japan, best known for serving authentic Osaka-style comfort food.

LOCATION: Upper Ground Floor, Seaview Wing, SM Seaside City, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu

HOUR : 10:00AM - 09:00PM ( DAILY )

WHAT WE ORDERED :

SPECIAL PORK TONKOTSU RAMEN :
The Special Pork Tonkotsu Ramen was a bowl of pure comfort and flavor. The broth was rich, creamy, and deeply savory, clearly simmered for hours to extract that signature pork bone umami. The noodles were perfectly cooked—springy and chewy—while the chashu pork slices were tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Topped with fresh green onions, nori, and a perfectly cooked egg, every bite (and sip) was satisfying. A must-try for ramen lovers!

PRICE : PHP 545

KATSUDON :
The Katsudon delivered that comforting mix of savory and slightly sweet flavors that make this dish a Japanese classic. The pork cutlet was crispy on the outside yet tender inside, pairing well with the soft, sweet onions and fluffy egg cooked in a flavorful dashi-soy sauce blend. Served over warm steamed rice, it was hearty and satisfying. While delicious, the cutlet could have been a touch juicier to make it perfect.
RATE : ⅘
PRICE : PHP 435

BUTADON :
The Butadon was a flavorful and satisfying rice bowl, with tender slices of pork coated in a sweet-savory glaze that paired perfectly with the steamed rice. The sauce had a nice balance—rich but not overpowering—allowing the natural flavor of the pork to shine through. While delicious, a slightly smokier char on the meat would have made it even more irresistible.
RATE : ⅘
PRICE : PHP 350

TENDON :
The Tendon was a satisfying mix of crispy tempura over a bed of fluffy steamed rice, drizzled with a light, savory-sweet sauce. The shrimp tempura was the highlight—juicy inside with a delicate crunch—while the vegetable tempura added variety and texture. The coating could have been a touch lighter for an even crispier bite, but overall, it was a hearty and well-balanced donburi that hit the spot.

PRICE : PHP 330

MANGO SHAKE :
The Mango Shake was cool and refreshing, with a natural sweetness from the fruit. However, the flavor was a bit mild, lacking that vibrant, ripe mango punch that makes a shake truly stand out. It’s a nice thirst-quencher, but not particularly memorable.
RATE : ⅗
PRICE : PHP 160

OSAKA TROPICAL JUICE :
The Osaka Tropical Juice was light, fruity, and refreshing, making it a pleasant companion to the meal. However, the flavor leaned more on the subtle side, and it lacked the bold, tropical kick the name suggests. A decent drink, but nothing that steals the spotlight.

SERVICE : ⅘
Service was warm and accommodating, with staff making sure we were comfortable and attended to throughout the meal. There was a slight delay in serving the food, but it was understandable and didn’t take away from the overall positive dining experience. Friendly service paired with a welcoming attitude made the visit enjoyable.

AMBIANCE : ⅘
Located inside the mall, the restaurant offers a convenient and accessible spot for a meal after shopping or errands. The interior has a clean, modern Japanese-inspired design that adds to the dining experience. While it doesn’t have a scenic view, the cozy setup and strategic location make it a pleasant place to enjoy Japanese comfort food.

BOODLE CEBU : is a Filipino restaurant in Cebu known for its boodle fight-style dining—large, shareable platters served on banana leaves, perfect for barkadas and families. They offer classic Pinoy favorites like boneless lechon, sinigang, lumpia, and grilled meats, plus crowd-pleasers like truffle cream pasta and Korean-inspired sides.

LOCATION: TVD Arcade, Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City — right beside Tree Shade Spa.

HOUR : 10:00AM - 05:00AM ( DAILY )

WHAT WE ORDERED :

BBQ BOODLE FIGHT :
The BBQ Boodle Fight was a fun and festive dining experience—perfect for sharing and full of variety. The platter came with grilled chicken and pork barbecue, shrimp, fresh mango, watermelon, grilled veggies, and rice, all beautifully arranged on banana leaves for that traditional Filipino feel.
The flavors were generally on point: the chicken was juicy, the shrimp grilled well, and the fruit added a nice refreshing balance. However, the pork barbecue had a bit too much fat, which made some bites less enjoyable. Still, the overall concept and taste delivered, and it's a great option for groups who want to dig in kamayan-style.
✅ Great for sharing, flavorful, and fun to eat—but could use leaner pork cuts for a perfect score.

TRUFFLE CREAM PASTA :
The Truffle Cream Pasta was hands down a standout dish. The pasta was perfectly cooked and coated in a rich, creamy truffle sauce that was both aromatic and indulgent. The combination of mushrooms and crispy bacon added layers of umami and texture, making every bite satisfying and flavorful.
The portion was generous, and the toasted bread on the side was perfect for soaking up every bit of that luscious sauce. This dish definitely lives up to its “Best Menu” tag—a must-try for truffle lovers!
RATE : 5/5
PRICE : PHP 480

TOMATO PASTA :
The Tomato Pasta was a solid and satisfying dish. The sauce had a rich, tangy tomato flavor that tasted fresh and well-seasoned. It wasn’t overly sweet or acidic, striking a good balance that complemented the pasta well. While it didn’t quite have the wow factor of the truffle pasta, it was still comforting, flavorful, and well-prepared—a great choice if you're craving a classic red sauce pasta.
RATE : ⅘
PRICE : PHP 480

BONELESS LECHON :
The Boneless Lechon came with crispy skin and a generous portion, perfect for sharing. While the outer texture was on point—golden and crunchy—the meat itself was a bit too fatty, which made it heavy and slightly greasy. The dipping sauce added a nice zing, but overall, it would’ve been better with a leaner cut of pork to balance the richness. A decent option if you're craving lechon, but not the best we’ve had.
RATE : ⅗
PRICE : PHP 899 ( Good for 4-5 persons )

PORK SINIGANG :
The Pork Sinigang delivered that familiar, comforting sour tamarind kick we all love. The broth was flavorful and well-balanced—not too sour, not too bland—and the vegetables were cooked just right, still holding some bite. The pork was tender, though a few pieces had more fat than meat. Still, it was a hearty and satisfying bowl that definitely hits the spot, especially for fans of traditional Filipino comfort food.
RATE : ⅘
PRICE : PHP 499

PORK LUMPIA :
You get 10 pieces of these golden, crispy pork lumpia, and they’re definitely a great value for the price. Each roll was fried to perfection—crunchy on the outside, savory and juicy on the inside. The filling was flavorful and well-seasoned, though it could have used a bit more variety (like veggies or garlic) for added depth. Still, they were a hit at the table—perfect for sharing and dipping!
RATE : ⅘
PRICE : PHP 299

KIMCHI :
Unfortunately, the Kimchi fell short of expectations. While it looked vibrant and spicy, the flavor was too sour and lacked depth, missing that signature balance of spice, tang, and umami. The texture was also a bit too soft, almost soggy, which made it less enjoyable to eat. For a side dish meant to pack a punch, this one didn’t quite deliver.
RATE : ⅖
PRICE : PHP 100

SPICY CUCUMBER BITES :
The Spicy Cucumber Bites were refreshingly crisp with a satisfying kick. The cucumbers were well-marinated, soaking up the flavor of the kimchi paste and spices without becoming soggy. Each bite had a nice balance of heat, tang, and crunch, making it a great side dish to cut through the richness of grilled meats. A tasty and zesty palate cleanser that definitely worked well with the rest of the meal.
RATE : ⅘
PRICE : PHP 150

ICED TEA :
The Iced Tea was your typical, no-frills refreshment. It was cool, sweet, and did the job, but there was nothing particularly memorable about it. No distinct flavor or twist—just a standard drink to wash down the meal. Good enough, but definitely not a standout.
RATE : ⅗
PRICE : PHP 150 ( Pitcher )

PINEAPPLE :
The pineapple was fresh and juicy, offering a sweet and slightly tangy finish to the meal. While it was a nice addition to the spread, it was pretty standard and unremarkable—not overly sweet, but not super either. A refreshing bite, but nothing that stood out on its own.
RATE : ⅗
PRICE : PHP 150 ( Pitcher )

SERVICE : ⅗
The service was a mix of highs and lows. On the positive side, the staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating, which made the dining atmosphere warm and welcoming. However, the orders arrived quite late, and there were times when our requests weren’t attended to right away—we had to follow up more than once. While the attitude of the staff was great, the efficiency and attentiveness need improvement to match the hospitality.

AMBIANCE : 5/5
The ambiance was absolutely on point—one of the highlights of the dining experience. The restaurant had aesthetic décor, with a warm, inviting vibe. They even had fog effects (“pa-usok-usok”) in the dining area, adding a fun and dramatic touch. The fountain and water feature beside the tables brought a relaxing, almost resort-like feel, and the second-floor setup looked perfect for events or special gatherings. Whether you're dining casually or celebrating something big, the space felt thoughtfully designed and visually impressive.

WHAT WE ORDERED :

SHRIMP ROLL :
Though on the pricier side, the Shrimp Roll absolutely delivered in both taste and quality. Each bite was packed with plump, juicy shrimp, wrapped in perfectly seasoned rice and seaweed, with a delightful balance of flavors and textures. It had just the right amount of crunch and creaminess, making it a standout dish that was totally worth the splurge. A must-try for sushi lovers!
RATE : 5/5

TOFU ROLL:
The Tofu Roll was a pleasant surprise—light, flavorful, and perfect for those looking for a vegetarian-friendly option. The tofu had a nicely grilled texture with a mild, savory taste that paired well with the sushi rice and other ingredients. While it didn’t steal the spotlight like the Shrimp Roll, it was still delicious and satisfying, offering a clean and refreshing bite.

PRICE : PHP 269 ( 6 PCS )

BANH MI BEEF SATAY :
The Banh Mi Beef Satay had a nice concept, combining tender beef with a satay-style flavor profile. While the beef was seasoned fairly well, it leaned a bit dry, and the bread was noticeably hard, making it tough to bite through and slightly distracting from the overall experience. The flavors were decent, but the texture issues with the bread kept it from being fully enjoyable. An okay dish, but not something we’d rush to order again.
RATE : ⅗
PRICE : PHP 399

SATAY BEEF :
The Beef Satay came with a generous portion and had a nice char from the grill, giving it a slightly smoky flavor. The meat was flavorful but a bit tough and dry, which took away from the overall enjoyment. The satay sauce was mild, lacking the rich, nutty depth we were hoping for. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite hit the mark either—a decent dish, but not particularly memorable.
RATE : ⅗

PHO SPECIAL :
The Pho Special was a standout dish—comforting, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The broth was rich and aromatic, with layers of spices that developed with every sip. The bowl came loaded with a generous mix of tender beef cuts, rice noodles, and fresh herbs, creating a perfect balance of textures and flavors. It’s the kind of pho that warms your soul and keeps you coming back for more. Definitely one of the best we've had!

PHAT COOLER :
The Phat Cooler was a refreshing drink, served chilled with a slightly sweet and fruity flavor profile. While it was enjoyable and paired well with the meal, it didn’t really stand out. The taste was fairly mild and felt more like a standard iced beverage than a specialty drink. A decent thirst-quencher, but nothing particularly memorable.

VIETNAMESE COFFEE :
The Vietnamese Coffee had the classic bold and robust flavor you'd expect, with a rich coffee base and sweet condensed milk. However, it leaned a bit too sweet and lacked the strong, smooth intensity that makes Vietnamese coffee a standout. It was enjoyable, but not exceptional—good for a caffeine fix, but not the best version we've tried.

SERVICE : ⅗
Service was average at best. While the staff was polite, they lacked attentiveness. Our orders took quite a while to arrive, and we had to remind them multiple times for simple requests like tissues. It seemed like the team was either understaffed or not fully engaged, which affected the overall dining experience. There’s definitely room for improvement in responsiveness and customer care.

AMBIANCE : ⅘
The restaurant had a pleasant and well-designed interior, offering a clean and cozy space to enjoy a meal. Being inside SM Seaside, it’s also very convenient and accessible, especially for shoppers or mall-goers looking for a good place to eat. While it doesn't offer a unique view or setting, the comfort and convenience make it a solid choice for casual dining.

This dish delivered on texture and flavor, especially that crackling — crisp and golden! The pork was well-seasoned, and the rice paired perfectly with their signature savory sauce.
💬 It’s a simple dish, but when done right? It slaps.

When we arrived, the place was packed — a good sign, really. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, and while some might find that long, we understood: the kitchen was working double-time, and the staff never once lost their composure.Despite the crowd, the team was accommodating, smiling through the rush, patiently answering questions, and keeping the vibe light. You could tell they were trying — and sometimes, that effort is worth more than speed.

AMBIANCE : ⅗
It is clearly a hot spot — and the crowd proves it. When we arrived, there was already a line outside. Inside, the first two floors were full to the brim, tables tightly packed. While that kind of energy can be exciting, it also meant tight seating and long waits. What surprised us was that it’s a three-story building, yet the third floor wasn’t being used for dining. Sayang, because the place could’ve easily accommodated more diners and made the experience more relaxed. The space feels cramped.
