UAE has tightened residency regulations further, announcing strict action against anyone who shelters, employs, or facilitates illegal residents. Under the new enforcement, providing housing or jobs to undocumented individuals can result in fines of up to AED 5,000,000, equivalent to nearly Rs 380 million, along with possible imprisonment.
Working on a visit visa has been declared an offense, carrying fines exceeding AED 10,000. Meanwhile, the use or creation of fake residency documents may lead to prison terms of up to ten years. UAE authorities have classified residency law violations as offenses against national security.
Officials say immigration rules are now being enforced with zero tolerance to protect the labor market and ensure public safety. The new measures are expected to discourage illegal employment, prevent exploitation, and strengthen border and residency control across all emirates without exception. Further awareness campaigns will inform residents and employers about legal obligations and penalties nationwide.

The UAE is set for a spell of unstable weather from December 13 to 19, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
A deepening low-pressure system combined with an upper-air trough will bring varying cloud cover and intermittent scattered rain across several regions.
Early morning humidity may trigger fog inland and along coasts. Winds will shift between south-easterly, north-easterly, and north-westerly directions, remaining light to moderate but strengthening at times, potentially causing dust in exposed areas.
Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf may turn rough with cloud activity, while the Sea of Oman remains slight to moderate.
