The Muslim community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 16-year-old Muhammad Ismail Alum, a young Hafidh of the Qur’an who tragically lost his life while cycling home after performing Fajr prayer at Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham.

A young boy who had dedicated himself to the Book of Allah, leaving the masjid after Fajr, should have been returning home to his family, not becoming the subject of a tragic obituary.

His passing is a painful reminder of how fragile life is and how quickly everything can change. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his Qur’an, raise him among the people of the Qur’an, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Aameen

May Allah grant his parents, family, friends, teachers and the entire community sabr and strength during this devastating time.

O Allah, make the Qur’an a light for him in his grave, an intercessor for him on the Day of Judgment, and grant his family the reward of patience. Ameen. 🤲🏽

A Painful Chapter in His Journey

During his studies in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Mohamed Bashir Jalloh lost his elder brother, the family’s main financial support. The loss deeply affected him, his studies, and his well-being. Yet, with his father’s encouragement and reliance upon Allah, he found the strength to continue.

As a child, Dr. Mohamed Bashir Jalloh was encouraged by his father to pursue Islamic education. However, the journey was not always easy. He revealed that he ran away several times because he did not initially want to continue his Islamic studies.

One day, after seeing his father in tears because of his actions, something changed within him. That emotional moment became a turning point, and he decided to take his Islamic education seriously.
