Napoleon Solo β bought for a bargain at Keeneland, twice beaten this spring, and conditioned by a trainer who nearly walked away from the sport β produced the performance of his life at Laurel Park to defeat Iron Honor by 1ΒΌ lengths in the 151st Preakness Stakes.π
Jockey Paco Lopez settled him beautifully off the pace and unleashed him on the far turn, where the grey c**t swept to the front and never looked back. His earnings now surpass $1.6 million from just five career starts.β¨
"I've almost quit about three or four times," trainer Chad Summers said afterward. "But we're still here, we're battling."
