When my husband was still in the Philippines with me after we got married, we were celebrating our one-week anniversary. ❤️
We went to one of the beaches and took a long stroll, which eventually ended with us swimming. We booked a spot by the beach where we sat, drank, talked, laughed, loved, and left our clothes while we kept going back into the water until it got dark.
We even had seggs on the beach. 😅 I honestly thought it was only in the bedroom that people could have seggs, not knowing it could happen somewhere else too. Looking back, it remains one of my favorite memories because I keep smiling each time I remember it.
As we walked back to the car, our legs were covered with sand. My husband asked me to sit gently in the car with my leg outside. He reached for a bottle of water from the driver’s seat, washed the sand off my leg, kissed it, and told me he loved me before helping me put it back inside the car.
The whole time, I was feeling shy because I used to think my leg wasn’t nice. It had spots that I was bullied for in school, and I carried that insecurity with me for years.
He noticed how shy I was and asked what was wrong.
I told him, “It’s my leg. I think it’s gross for you to be kissing it.”
He immediately brought out his phone, turned on the flashlight, and shined it on my leg.
“Wait… where is the spot?” he asked. “I can’t find anything.”
Then he kissed it even more. 🥹
After that, he went to his side, washed his own leg, and before we zoomed off, he kissed me and told me he loved me so much.
Almost 8 years later, he still hasn’t stopped loving me. 🥰❤️
Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t flowers, money, or grand gestures. Sometimes it’s having someone who sees the parts of you that you struggle to love and loves them even more
