AI is rapidly emerging as the strongest driver of global trade growth, reshaping supply chains, finance, and logistics worldwide.
According to DMCC’s Future of Trade 2026 report, AI-related goods such as semiconductors and data-centre equipment are contributing a disproportionately large share of global export growth, even as overall trade faces pressure from tariffs, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain disruptions.
The report highlights a shift toward resilience, digital infrastructure, and regional trade blocs, with businesses increasingly adopting AI to stay competitive.
However, a widening gap between AI adopters and non-adopters is expected to define future global trade performance.
