Taylor Swift’s youngest fan is marking all her first milestones in true Swiftie style.

Inspired by the 35-year-old pop icon, new mom Jori — known as JorLinn on TikTok — has been celebrating her newborn daughter Noa James’ monthly milestones with themed photoshoots based on each of Swift’s album Eras, in chronological order.

Speaking to People magazine, Jori shared, “A friend and I talked about the idea and decided to work on it together. We started collecting items, and I’ve put a lot of thought into it, even doing plenty of DIY work for the photos.”

The United States has lowered tariffs on Pakistani goods from 29% to 19% under a new trade agreement, giving Pakistan a modest advantage over India (25%) and other regional competitors. The move is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s textile exports and contribute to industrial growth. Additionally, Pakistan will start importing U.S. crude oil, signaling a significant shift in its energy strategy.

While the development is viewed as progress, analysts caution that the deal offers only short-term benefits. They emphasize the importance of Pakistan’s industries investing in research, development, and efficiency to maintain long-term competitiveness in global markets.

Harrison Ford recently opened up about the profound impact of Michael J. Fox while working on the set of Shrinking. Speaking to the outlet, Ford praised Fox’s bravery and resilience, saying, “Michael’s courage, his fortitude, and his grace are all fully visible.”

The Fugitive star described Michael as “a very smart, brave, noble, generous, and passionate person—an example to all of us, whether or not we are dealing with Parkinson’s.” Ford added that one can’t help but admire the extraordinary grace with which Fox carries himself.

In Shrinking, Michael J. Fox is making a surprise return to acting in a secret role, while Harrison Ford plays Dr. Paul Rhoades, a senior therapist at a cognitive behavioral therapy center. Ford shared that Fox provided not only a physical portrayal of Parkinson’s to draw from, but also a deeper belief that his character, Paul, could rise to the challenge.

Reflecting on the condition, the Indiana Jones actor remarked, “Parkinson’s is not funny,” and emphasized his commitment to portraying it authentically. “It’s essential to handle it with accuracy and respect, not for entertainment purposes,”

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new trade and oil partnership with Pakistan, under which both countries will collaborate to develop Pakistan’s untapped oil reserves. An American firm will soon be selected to lead the project. This development comes shortly after Pakistan granted tax exemptions to foreign digital companies—a move widely viewed as a gesture of goodwill.

Trump highlighted the initiative as part of broader global trade efforts aimed at reducing deficits and prioritizing U.S. economic interests. The announcement also follows recent U.S. trade policy changes, including the imposition of a 25% tariff on Indian imports starting August 1. Trump’s strategy continues to focus on reshaping global trade through bold agreements and targeted tariffs.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has declared that Britain will officially recognise a Palestinian state at the upcoming UN General Assembly in September—unless Israel fulfills certain key conditions. These include an immediate ceasefire, a clear commitment to a two-state solution, and unrestricted UN humanitarian aid access to Gaza.

Starmer described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as "intolerable" and warned that hopes for lasting peace are rapidly fading. The UK now joins France in its pledge to recognise Palestine, amid growing pressure both domestically and internationally.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly criticised the announcement, claiming it amounts to rewarding terrorism.

Between January and June 2025, Pakistan produced 14.24 million mobile phones locally, while imports remained significantly lower at just 0.86 million units. In June alone, local manufacturing accounted for 2.19 million phones. For the full year 2024, domestic production stood at 31.38 million units, compared to only 1.71 million imported.

Of the devices produced in 2025 so far, 7.63 million were 2G phones and 6.6 million were smartphones. Currently, smartphones make up 68% of all mobile devices operating on Pakistan’s network.

Mobile phone imports dropped by 21.31% in FY2024–25 to $1.494 billion, with a 22.09% year-on-year decrease in value when measured in Pakistani rupees. Despite the overall decline, June 2025 saw a sharp 39.6% month-on-month rise in imports, totaling $139.42 million.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military offensive in Gaza has led to the deaths of at least 60,034 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Among the casualties, 147 people — including 88 children — have died from starvation as famine conditions worsen. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has warned that one in every three Gaza residents is going without food for extended periods.

Between April and mid-July, over 20,000 children were treated for acute malnutrition, with more than 3,000 suffering from severe cases. On July 29 alone, 83 Palestinians, including 33 individuals seeking humanitarian aid, were killed during attacks, despite declared pauses for relief efforts.

Healthcare workers report a surge in infants suffering from critical nutrient deficiencies. As Gaza's humanitarian crisis intensifies, with infrastructure collapsing and vital services failing, urgent calls are growing for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian aid access.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially released the schedule for by-elections in three key constituencies of the National and Punjab Assemblies, with polling scheduled for September 18, 2025.

The by-elections will take place in NA-66 Wazirabad, NA-129 Lahore, and PP-87 Mianwali. During a fiery session in the Lok Sabha, Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi launched a strong critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, referencing explosive claims made by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump, in a speech delivered in Scotland, stated that five Indian fighter jets were shot down during the May clashes with Pakistan and that he personally negotiated a ceasefire.

Rahul Gandhi challenged Modi to publicly deny Trump’s statement, saying, “If he has Indira Gandhi’s courage, he should speak the truth.” In response, PM Modi did not mention Trump by name but firmly denied any external influence. While speaking in parliament during a debate on Operation Sindoor, Modi asserted, “No world leader asked us to halt the operation,” and claimed that Pakistan called for peace once it started feeling the impact of Indian strikes.

Former Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram has openly rejected the Modi government’s accusations against Pakistan regarding the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of over two dozen civilians. In a recent interview, Chidambaram questioned the integrity of the National Investigation Authority’s (NIA) probe, challenging whether the attackers were properly identified and whether there was concrete proof of their origin. He implied the possibility of domestic involvement and criticized the government for withholding key evidence.
His statements directly challenge the official narrative and suggest a diversion of responsibility. Despite Pakistan’s denial and offer for a neutral investigation, India proceeded with retaliatory strikes that hit both military and civilian targets. Pakistan responded by shooting down five Indian fighter jets. The tensions were later diffused through diplomatic intervention from the U.S., UAE, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other nations, helping to avert further escalation.

A massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula on July 29, placing it among the most powerful quakes ever recorded. The undersea tremor in the Pacific Ocean prompted tsunami warnings across Hawaii, Alaska, and the U.S. West Coast. Although tsunami waves eventually reached Hawaii, no major damage was reported. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, as such high-magnitude quakes can lead to prolonged wave activity and aftershocks. The earthquake’s sheer strength has captured global attention due to its potential for far-reaching effects.
