Fines and Penalties (UAE Law):
As per the official UAE Government website, companies can be fined for not paying salaries on time.
A salary is considered late if it is not paid within 10 days after the due date.
WPS Violations: Giving wrong information in the WPS to hide or avoid payment: AED 5,000 per worker (up to AED 50,000 total).
Not paying salaries on time through WPS: AED 1,000 per employee.
Forcing employees to sign fake salary slips: AED 5,000 per employee.

Who don’t need to be added to WPS file:
You don’t have to include these employees in your monthly WPS file:
* Employees who have an ongoing wage-related court case
* Employees who have been reported as absconding (missing from work)
* New employees who have not completed their first 30 days
* Employees who are on approved unpaid leave
