And perhaps the saddest part is…
we already know they’re lying,
yet we still choose to listen.
Maybe that’s what love does—
it makes us find comfort in their lies
and happiness in the illusion they create.
We know the truth,
but sometimes the illusion feels so beautiful
that we’d rather live in it
