"Good, busy!" isn't an answer.
It's a script we all learned to recite.

Busy has never once told anyone how I actually feel.
It's just the fastest way to end a conversation before it gets honest.

What's the line you say on autopilot? Tell me β€” I'm collecting them. What is "the busy line" you too are using to hide your feelings?

How long are we going to use life chores, tasks and events as a shield "protecting" us from ourselves?

I didn't even notice the words on the wall until I'd already walked past them twice.
That's usually how it goes. I'm not looking for the reminder β€” I'm just moving through my day,
and then something stops me for half a second and I realize I needed to hear it more than I knew.
I've restarted more times this year than I can count. Not dramatically. Just quietly deciding, again, to come back to myself after getting pulled somewhere else β€” by work, by responsibility, by the version of me that everyone already knows how to rely on.
Nobody tells you that starting over isn't a one-time event. It's something you keep choosing, in small unremarkable moments, long after the big one already happened.
So if you're on restart number four this month β€” same. That's not falling behind. That's just what it looks like to actually pay attention.

the plot twist nobody warns you about: you can know everyone's timeline, everyone's next move, everyone's needs β€” and still not know what today feels like for you.
not a callout. just a Thursday realization.

For about two years I answered "I'm just tired" so consistently that I stopped hearing myself say it.

It was true, technically. I was tired. But it was also the most acceptable sentence available to me, and I think I chose it for that reason.

When you can't say no with your mouth β€” because it would disappoint someone, because it would cost something, because you built an entire identity on being the person who says yes, you start saying it with your energy instead.
The refusal comes out sideways.
It arrives as flatness. As not caring about things you used to care about. As dread on a Sunday evening for a life you supposedly chose.

I want to be careful here, because there's a lot of content right now telling people their exhaustion is a spiritual message. Sometimes tiredness is just tiredness. Sometimes it's worth taking to a doctor, and nothing written in a journal replaces that.
But there's a third thing.
And the third thing is a "no" that never got said out loud, still living in your body, doing its job the only way it's allowed to.

What have you been calling tiredness?

If you don't know where to start, don't start with the big thing. Start with something almost embarrassingly small.

Pick one tiny action you actually want in your routine β€” for me it's lotion, every single day. Then, right after you do it, say it out loud: "I did that. I'm proud of me." Say it like you mean it, not like a script.

We spent years teaching ourselves we wouldn't make it β€” one skipped promise, one "I'll start Monday," one quiet disappointment at a time. That belief didn't build itself overnight, and it won't unbuild itself overnight either. But it starts the same way it was built: repetition.

This is the work when you feel lost and have no idea what the "big plan" is supposed to look like. You don't need the plan yet. You need one small piece of evidence that you're someone who follows through. Then another. Then another.

That's Phase 0. Not motivation. Not a five-year vision. Just you, proving to yourself β€” again β€” that you're capable.

What's your one small thing? Tell me below πŸ‘‡
