STARDUST AND THE GOLDEN LIGHT
Book I: The Desert Kingdom
Episode 3 β The Silver Mark and the Ancient Prophecy β¨βπΊ
π
The desert did not sleep.
While the people of Ashal rested behind stone walls and lantern-lit streets, the dunes whispered secrets older than the kingdom itself.
Kai sat alone atop the highest ridge.
His eyes remained fixed on the silver mark glowing upon his wrist.
It pulsed like a heartbeat.
Slow.
Steady.
Alive.
Ever since hearing the mysterious voice, the mark had not stopped shining.
He pulled back his sleeve.
The symbol seemed different tonight.
Lines of silver light stretched across his skin, forming shapes he had never seen before.
Circles.
Stars.
Ancient patterns.
As if something hidden beneath his flesh was awakening.
"What are you?" he whispered.
The desert offered no answer.
Then suddenlyβ
The mark flared.
A burst of silver light exploded around him.
The world vanished.
The dunes disappeared.
The stars disappeared.
Everything disappeared.
Kai found himself standing somewhere else.
A vast chamber made of white stone.
Ancient pillars stretched toward a ceiling lost in darkness.
Golden flames burned without heat.
And at the center of the chamber stood a giant stone tablet.
Covered in symbols.
Covered in stars.
Covered in time.
Kai slowly approached.
His heart pounded.
Though he had never seen this place before, it felt strangely familiar.
Like a memory hidden behind a locked door.
The moment he touched the tabletβ
The symbols began to glow.
A voice echoed through the chamber.
Not male.
Not female.
Ancient.
Timeless.
"When the stars abandon their path..."
The tablet illuminated.
Images appeared.
A silver star falling from heaven.
A golden light searching endless worlds.
Kingdoms rising.
Kingdoms burning.
Oceans swallowing empires.
Wars beneath celestial skies.
"Two souls shall walk the road of eternity."
The vision shifted.
Kai saw a young woman.
Golden eyes.
Golden light.
Standing beneath a desert moon.
His breath caught.
Her.
The girl from the feeling.
The girl from the voice.
The girl he had never met.
"One shall remember."
The image of the young woman brightened.
"One shall forget."
The image changed.
Kai saw himself.
Lost.
Searching.
Alone.
"Together they shall mend what was broken."
The chamber trembled.
Cracks of light spread through the stone floor.
The voice grew heavier.
Sadder.
As if remembering an ancient wound.
"But shadows shall rise to keep them apart."
Darkness suddenly flooded the vision.
A figure appeared.
Tall.
Faceless.
Wrapped in black robes.
Its eyes burned crimson.
Its hand reached toward the stars.
And one by one...
The stars began to die.
Kai stumbled backward.
Fear gripped his chest.
"Who are you?"
The shadow turned.
As though hearing him.
As though seeing him across thousands of years.
And smiled.
The chamber exploded into darkness.
Kai gasped.
The desert returned.
The cold night wind struck his face.
The stars were once again overhead.
The vision was gone.
But something remained.
In his hand.
Kai looked down.
His breath caught.
A small fragment of ancient stone rested in his palm.
A piece of the tablet.
Real.
Not a dream.
Not a hallucination.
Carved upon it was a single symbol.
A star wrapped in golden light.
Far away, inside the palace of Ashal, Princess Lyra awoke suddenly from sleep.
Her golden eyes flashed open.
Her heart raced.
A single word escaped her lips.
"Kai."
The name came naturally.
Without thought.
Without reason.
As if she had spoken it a thousand times before.
She sat upright.
Confused.
Terrified.
Yet unable to shake the feeling.
Somewhere beyond the palace walls...
Someone needed her.
And somewhere far above the desert, hidden among the constellations, the ancient prophecy continued to awaken.
For destiny had spoken.
The first piece had moved.
And the shadows had begun to stir.
To Be Continued... β¨πΊβπ
