This International Youth Day, we shine the spotlight on HerbaLens, a youth-led innovation developed by students from the University of Makati that shows how technology can help preserve knowledge while solving real-world challenges.

Using AI-powered image recognition, HerbaLens enables users to identify medicinal plants and access information on their traditional uses, proper preparation, dosage, and safe use. Beyond plant identification, the application also promotes health education, conservation, and the preservation of traditional knowledge.

Developed by Mark Angelo P. Rivera, Paul Xavier M. Dubiao, and Ariann P. Villagonzalo of the University of Makati the application was recognized as the Youth Category Winner of the Socially Relevant Technology (SRT) Contest 2025, demonstrating how young Filipinos are transforming research into practical innovations that can benefit communities.

This International Youth Day, let's celebrate the creativity, curiosity, and ingenuity of Filipino youth. Their creations today can become tomorrow's solutions, and through IP, these innovations can be protected, nurtured, and transformed into lasting impact for the nation.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has considered favorably the preferred share offering of Arthaland Corporation, which seeks to raise up to P3 billion.

In its meeting on August 11, the Commission En Banc resolved to render effective the registration statement of Arthaland covering up to four million preferred shares, with an oversubscription option of up to two million shares, subject to the company's compliance with certain remaining requirements.
