The returned to Freetown after an inspiring journey across Sierra Leone. As an influencer, I felt honored and moved by the resilience and hope shown in every community we visited. Thank you to the amazing people, journalists, influencers, and the dedicated teams from Particip and IMDev for their support and coordination. This tour was more than travel—it was learning, connecting, and amplifying the voices of our people. We move forward with one message: awareness, unity, and empowerment.

Into the Heart of Gola!
During the 🚌🇪🇺🇸🇱 , we visited the Gola Rainforest National Park and met brave forest rangers — including inspiring women leading the frontline of conservation.

With EU support through the PAFOR initiative, vital work is underway to protect one of West Africa’s last remaining rainforests, conserve endangered species, strengthen eco-communities, and promote climate-smart livelihoods. From biodiversity patrols to sustainable cocoa farming, this initiative is protecting nature while improving lives.

A natural heritage worth protecting.

Today, the visited the Rainbo Initiative center in Bo, where hope is alive. With support from the EU-UN , the center has been upgraded to offer essential medical, psychological, and legal services for women and girls who have survived violence.

This center is a key part of the fight against Gender-Based Violence. We remain committed to protecting the dignity and safety of every woman — the silence must end.

The made a stop in Bonthe, where Team Europe was warmly welcomed by the District Council leadership. They discussed ongoing cooperation focused on strengthening local service delivery. These efforts are already making a positive impact, particularly in promoting women’s empowerment across the district. More updates will highlight the real benefits these initiatives are bringing to women in Bonthe.

The EU Bus Tour 2025 has begun its second phase, starting in Freetown and now stopping in Port Loko for a visit to the District Council. This part of the tour focuses on women’s empowerment and highlighting powerful stories of resilience against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). The journey continues, with more updates to come.

The EU Bus Tour visited Bonthe District for a full day of activities, including meetings with the District Council, AID-SL, and MOPADA. The team reviewed community projects that support women and girls and held a CSO Local Actors session on strengthening women’s economic and social rights. They also engaged in interviews and discussions with local representatives, and later met with the Girls Circle Collective, whose work is inspiring positive change. The day ended with a warm and memorable evening in Bonthe.
