Central Board of Health Antigua and Barbuda today on Lower All Saints Road. Despite my efforts to get a comment from shop staff and or the CBH inspectors about what was going on, it was clear to see that CBH staff were keeping the consumers of Antigua and Barbuda safe and alive!

Truck loads of expired goods on the shelves and in the storage area. That’s right old drinks and food products…on sale…to you and I! Parents getting ready to bulk shop for the new term, caterers, bulk buyers, hell anyone shopping needs to make sure you check the date on EVERYTHING before you head to the checkout! You may end up in hospital or worse the cemetery!

CBH tirelessly do their job! Not even water or lunch did these guys have when executing their duties!

Shop owners - or anyone who sells food products….check your stock!
What gets me is that they were willing to sell the goods despite the risk to public health!! Profit over customer satisfaction and service! You make $$$$ daily and yet do not care about the impact your out of date goods can do to your customers! Don’t let CBH catch you! They can close you down!

I have concrete information that plenty of people get sick from old products!!

Oh while I’m at it…

Food handlers! Yeah you too! Watch out! You may have the food handlers license but you also have to follow the rules, practices and health guidelines that you were taught to get that license. Don’t slack and make folks sick! CBH will be looking for you too.

So, with that said! Be safe! Look for the expiry date on your purchases…it may just save your life and your pocket!
