The people of Ceuta need our support and solidarity- not political point scoring

What is happening in Ceuta is just like the European migration system as a whole: it can only be solved if Europe acts together.

Suspending Schengen and other knee-jerk reactions will not solve the issues we have.

Ukraine’s resilience exists beyond the battlefield 🇺🇦

The men and women fighting on the front lines are rightfully praised, but the Ukrainians who have found themselves scattered across Europe also deserve our admiration. Despite everything, they have worked, they have raised children, they have built lives across Europe. However next March the temporary status giving the Ukrainians the right to live in Europe will expire.

The Ukrainians who have made the EU their home deserve certainty. So let’s make sure these soon-to-be EU citizens get it.

When the far right turns up shouting about ‘remigration’, we had to sneak in our own ideas on how to ‘Save Europe’.

Our ideas on Saving Europe involve compassion, tolerance, courage, and not hatred, division, and racism. And while they shout Europe is Full, we say it is full of talent, hope, and respect.

Of course, it’s hard to satirise someone in jackboots shouting racist slogans. So while this was fun, I will continue the fight inside and outside the European Parliament. I hope you’ll join me

The racists are coming to the heart of Europe

Tomorrow, Eva Vlaardingerbroek and Martin Sellner are bringing a circus of hate to Brussels. They are holding a rally in front of the European Parliament in support of remigration. Remigration is their dream of creating an all-white Europe by deporting and expelling people who might have lived in Europe for generations.

Migration is a complex and sensitive topic that I am happy to debate with anyone. But this dog-whistle racism has no part in European politics. If they show up tomorrow, we will be there.
