FLEX - Future Skills for Lifelong Learning and Extended Education
Social Sciences
Program Description
Higher education is crucial in addressing global challenges, especially during transformative changes like the twin transition. To prepare the future workforce and specialized sectors, University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) and Academic Continuing Education are essential, as they offer high-quality upskilling and reskilling opportunities. The FLEX consortium tackles these needs by developing innovative approaches to ULLL. Key initiatives include integrating future skills through novel teaching methods, improving administrative processes via job shadowing, and promoting international and intercultural exchange, particularly in the extended Danube region. Moreover, joint micro-credentials and collaborative programs pave the way for the European Degree. Since 2000, ULLL has been highlighted in the Bologna Ministerial Conferences, emphasizing its importance for employability and workforce retention in specialized sectors. FLEX builds on the solid foundation of the Danube Rectors’ Conference.
