Sharing a few moments from Module 4 with Margo Rejmer - Every Person Is a Story: An Interview as an Encounter.

During the workshop, Margo shared with us a practical toolbox on how to approach interviews as spaces of encounter, empathy, and deep listening. Through different exercises and conversations, we explored ways of formulating meaningful questions, building trust, and understanding the stories people carry with them.

Now, with Margo’s guidance, the participants will continue working on their homework assignments, developing their own interviews and expanding these conversations further.

Grateful for the inspiring exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives throughout the workshop. The journey continues

Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting An Paenhuysen | for a two-day intensive workshop as part of the AWCP (Art Writing and Criticism Program).

Focused on critical and creative writing in the arts, the workshop combined theory, discussion, and many practical exercises. Together, we analyzed reviews by well-known critics, reflected on different approaches to art criticism, and exchanged thoughts on writing as a way of engaging with contemporary art and culture.

Memories from the second module of AWCP ✨

We had the pleasure of hosting Erka Shalari for a two-day workshop focused on writing and reviews. The first day was dedicated to theory, while the second day focused on practice, writing about artworks and engaging with exhibitions and artistic processes.

Together with the class, we are organizing the exhibition “Edhe kjo është nga unë” (This is mine too), created entirely within just 3 days. The exhibition opens tomorrow, May 12, at 19:30.

The exhibition brings together works by artists that step outside their usual styles. It includes experiments, early works, and creations that do not easily fit within the artists’ established identities. These works reveal moments of change and artistic exploration. The exhibition highlights processes of transformation, where art is still developing and has not yet taken on a final form.

In the first module of AWCP, we had the pleasure of hosting Francesco Scasciamaccha, who introduced us to “The Foundations of Cultural Studies as a Method for Critical Writing.”

This approach traces back to the emergence of Cultural Studies in the 1950s–60s, shaped by thinkers like Raymond Williams and closely linked to the Birmingham Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies.

Francesco shared with us a rich selection of materials, from theoretical readings to a home assignment, guiding us through ways of engaging critically with culture and text.

We’re sharing here a few glimpses from the course.
