(American Singer) - Darius Rucker found himself in a difficult spot as he took the stage. Like countless singers before him, Rucker started to notice his voice was going out. Hoping he could power through the show, with each new song, his voice cut out more and more. Wanting to give his fans the best performance possible, he decided to end the concert early. But not without making sure he made it up to fans.

Barely making it three songs into the concert, Rucker knew he needed to end the show. He told the crowd, “Y’all I can’t sing anymore. I will play one more song. I promise you we’re going to figure this out. This never happened. I physically can’t sing…I will make this up to you.”

Before heading off stage, Rucker performed his hit song “Wagon Wheel” for the audience, although he needed a little bit of help from the fans. Already stating he wanted to return to make the concert up, the country singer revealed, “I feel awful and I’m so sorry — I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing. We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it’s just not possible this year, so we’re issuing full refunds.”

(Pitchfork) - Macca is back. Sir Paul McCartney has announced a headlining tour across North America, kicking off in late September. The new run extends the Got Back Tour he launched in 2022, as he returns to cities including Atlanta, Montreal, Chicago, Buffalo, Las Vegas, Denver, and Nashville. He also plays his first-ever dates in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the Greater Palm Springs area. Find the Beatles bassist’s complete list of tour dates below.

While this is McCartney’s first tour in several years, he graced the stage more recently than that, playing three last-minute concerts at Bowery Ballroom, in New York, in February. Those sets served as warm-up gigs for his appearance on SNL50: The Anniversary Special, where he performed “Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End” from the Beatles’ 1969 album Abbey Road.

(The Hollywood Reporter) - Almost a decade ago, Lewis Pullman began his acting career by appearing opposite dad Bill Pullman in the Western The Ballad of Lefty Brown. Since then, he’s forged his own path, appearing in high-flying features such as Top Gun: Maverick and Marvel Studios’ The Thunderbolts* and earning an Emmy nomination for Lessons in Chemistry.

Now he is ready to reunite with his father onscreen and is in talks to star in the upcoming Spaceballs sequel.

The elder Pullman starred as the Han Solo-esque character Lone Starr in the Mel Brooks-directed film, which was released in 1987 and is fondly remembered for its riffs on Star Wars and other sci-fi staples, from Star Trek to 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Amazon MGM Studios is behind the sequel and intends to give it a theatrical release in 2027. The studio had no comment on Pullman’s casting.

(CNN) - Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys’ visionary and fragile leader whose genius for melody, arrangements and wide-eyed self-expression inspired “Good Vibrations,” “California Girls” and other summertime anthems and made him one of the world’s most influential recording artists, has died at 82.

Wilson’s family posted news of his death to his website and social media accounts Wednesday. Further details weren’t immediately available. Since May 2024, Wilson had been under a court conservatorship to oversee his personal and medical affairs, with Wilson’s longtime representatives, publicist Jean Sievers and manager LeeAnn Hard, in charge.

The eldest and last surviving of three musical brothers — Brian played bass, Carl lead guitar and Dennis drums — he and his fellow Beach Boys rose in the 1960s from local California band to national hitmakers to international ambassadors of surf and sun. Wilson himself was celebrated for his gifts and pitied for his demons. He was one of rock’s great Romantics, a tormented man who in his peak years embarked on an ever-steeper path to aural perfection, the one true sound.

(People) - When most people think about Barbara Walters, they probably recall the older version of the trailblazing journalist: her signature blonde bouffant, her political debates with colleagues on The View or her famous sit-down TV interviews during which she sat across from celebrities and occasionally made them cry.

But the new documentary Barbara Walters Tell Me Everything (Hulu, June 23) explores a much deeper — and occasionally darker — side of Walters. It examines her rise to the top as the first female co-anchor in nightly network news, and looks at the sexism she faced along the way and how her home life suffered as she fully dedicated herself to her career.

“Her road to success was paved with potholes and peril and naysayers,” says her longtime friend and current ABC News senior executive producer David Sloan in this week's PEOPLE cover story. He stayed in Walters' life until she disappeared from the spotlight in 2019, as she privately battled dementia before her death in 2022 at age 93.

Despite Walters' incredible success, she was painfully insecure, her friends and colleagues agree, and was especially down on herself about her looks.

Despite the sexist forces working against her, Walters proved to be a formidable interviewer and was given her own specials, beginning in 1976.

“She asked the questions that nobody else asked,” says Oprah Winfrey in the film. Of course, that wasn’t always a welcome thing.
