People usually try not to think about war. As long as it remains far away, it belongs to the news, history books, and other people’s stories. But once a person finds themselves inside it, everything becomes very simple and very frightening: they have to survive, make decisions, trust someone—or trust no one at all.

The emblem depicts the two-faced head of Janus set into a door framed by a stone arch. In ancient Roman tradition, Janus was the god of doors, gateways, transitions, and new beginnings. It is therefore fitting that his image appears on a door—the threshold between two worlds.
One face looks toward the past, the other toward the future. The door becomes a symbol of the present moment through which every person must pass. Every step forward is a crossing, and every decision is made upon the threshold between what has already happened and what is yet to come.
The past preserves experience. The future reveals possibility. The present is the door between them. To pass through it wisely, we must be able to look in both directions at once.

If you think that issues with designers and print shops only appeared in the era of deadlines and tech specs, listen to this story from 1635.
When the poet George Wither saw the first print run of his book A Collection of Emblemes, he was absolutely furious. He had conceptualized a deep, complex, philosophical plot for the main title page (the frontispiece), but the hired engraver, William Marshall, completely missed the point. He drew everything so clumsily and distorted that Wither wanted to destroy the work.
The money had been paid, and there was no time to redo it. Do you know what Wither did? He showed the ultimate level of self-irony: he kept the ruined drawing but opened the book with an entire poem where he publicly blasted the engraver and wrote that “the mistakes of this craftsman created such chaos that it would force the reader to think even harder.

The School of the Heart Oracle is an oracle deck created from restored 17th-century engravings and reimagined in a modern format.
The campaign also includes a detailed companion book, different deck editions, and special add-ons created specifically for this project.

George Wither published an emblem that perfectly describes toxic comment-section arguments and empty conflicts. It depicts roosters ready for battle, but the author makes a vital clarification: a worthy bird does not brawl for gain or trifles. Wither states directly that he who picks a fight over every minor provocation is a fool. Yet, he who hides and fails to defend his own when truly necessary is a coward. Seek balance and do not waste your fire on ‘dunghills’.”
