A rainy weekend meant staying at home. 🌧️ So, I just cooked some 'pot rice' with whatever was in the fridge. 🍲 It's inspired by Malaysian clay pot rice, which is why I called it 'pot rice'. 😋

I felt so nostalgic when I opened this bag of banana chips. 🍌The crispy crunch of these banana chips reminded me of the amazing banana fritters ('goreng pisang') I used to buy at the night markets ('pasar malam') in Malaysia.😋 Although these chips don't have batter and aren't hot, the sweet, caramelized banana flavor is very similar. The chips are perfectly crunchy but not too hard to chew, and they aren't overly sweet. 🍌 They taste great straight from the bag, but I also put some into my Malaysian fruit salad🥗 ('rojak'). Growing up in South East Asia, dried pickled fruit were everywhere. 😋 Recently, I tried some dried mangoes and apricots, and this brought all the fond memories back. 😍 The texture is chewy, tangy, tasty and not too sweet. (My full product review is in the previous post.)

What is your favourite dried or pickled fruit?

Tried some amazingly delicious 😋 round beans. These organic beans are fresh, crunchy with natural sweetness, and super versatile. I used them for stir-fries, omelette, noodle soup 🍜 and fried anchovies with Malaysian 'sambal'. 😋 It was absolutely delicious eaten with Jasmine white rice.
