Now that we are home we have welcomed a new family member.

This is Buddy the Macaw

I am working on his training and is all goes to plan he will begin travelling with us in the future.

We arrived home last night after a 12 hour drive - it’s fair to see we’re both pretty buggered.

It was nice to be back in our bed again and have a long hot shower!

Big shoutout to Bridgestone Goondiwindi who helped us at the last minute yesterday.

We put new tyres on the car on Friday in Cairns and driving since then found that they were not suitable for towing a caravan. The car was wandering in all of the grooves of the road and swinging the caravan around.

We tried everything moving weight In the caravan, pumping the tyres up, letting them down. Nothing worked.

So we stopped at Bridgestone and they removed the new tyres and put a new set on and today the van is towing like a dream and back to normal.

They were really helpful and accommodating- highly recommended

Sorry we’ve been quiet, we are officially on our way home.

My ankle is quite bad and Daryll’s back isn’t any better, so we’re heading home to rest and recover.

Today we had a very rough drive from Emerald to Taroom which trashed the inside of the van and made for an exhausting day.

Nobody talks about days like today, but they do happen. It’s days like these we cannot wait to curl up in bed and start fresh tomorrow.

So things have taken a turn with a not ideal situation.

Yesterday I badly rolled my ankle in a shopping centre car park - so spent a few hours getting to know the Cairn’s Hospital

Thankfully not broken, however I had a few issues did arise with my Rheumatoid Arthritis on the scan.

The conclusion is that I snapped ligaments on both sides of my ankle.

We were due to visit the local gorges and waterfalls, so those plans are out the window. Our plan to head further north has also been cancelled.

So we’re going to start heading south towards home to see if it starts to come good. If it does, we’ll head back via NSW and VIC. Otherwise we’ll be heading home 6 weeks early.

Hopefully the latter doesn’t happen.

Today we had a great day out going on the Pure Snorkelling boat to a reef on the Great Barrier Reef.

It was an amazing experience, the staff were top notch and extremely patient and supportive with my health issues/medical conditions.

While I only spent 15 minutes in the water until acute fatigue and breathlessness kicked in. Daryll spent a heap more time in the water, floating around and taking the Go Pro videos, so not only for me to see so that I didn't miss out and so he could show everyone else too.

We'd highly recommend taking this half day cruise activity in you're ever in Cairns!
