I’m so honoured to share this recent commission with you — each project brings its own magic, but this one held something especially tender.

Created as a gift for a father’s 89th birthday, this piece is a tribute to a life once lived on a small Pacific island — a time of joy, simplicity, and deep connection to place and family. The story behind it was rich with warmth and memory, and I had the privilege of weaving those threads into something visual.

Thank you, for trusting me with such a meaningful part of your family’s story. ❤️

It has been a busy week working on two commissions, and I can safely say it has been a fulfilling one. I created this illustration as a wedding gift for my dearest friend Lara - I love being able to make personalised gifts for the people I care about.

There’s something so special about combining the art of giving with the joy of using your own hands to make someone feel seen and loved. It fills my cup more than I ever imagined.

Have a lovely weekend, all :)

A proud little milestone—my business sign is officially up!

I thought this would be a great moment to reintroduce Lore Atelier and share a bit about where I’m based and what this space means to me.

Lore Atelier is located in Norwood, a charming suburb in Adelaide, South Australia. I started this venture with the dream of shifting into a full-time creative and illustration career—something that’s been close to my heart for a long time. I provide illustration services for brands and individuals seeking to bring their stories to life through visual storytelling.

My background is in chemical engineering, and I’ve worked in the field for the past eight years. In 2024, we welcomed our first child, and with plans to grow our family, I wanted to build something meaningful that I can return to after dedicating time to raising my little ones. Creating visual art that evokes emotion and connection brings me so much joy and fulfilment.

I’ll be sharing more of my work along the way, and I’m truly excited to take you on this journey with me.

This fine art print, titled Kalahari Deception, is inspired by a quiet, golden moment at our real-life campsite in the heart of Botswana. Painted from memory and emotion, it captures a peaceful late afternoon scene under the dappled shade of a camelthorn tree, the warm light dancing through its branches.
We were deep in the Kalahari, surrounded by stillness and sand, where time seemed to stretch. The man in the painting—my husband—moves through the frame with the ease of someone at home in the bush. The canvas dome tent, the folding chairs, and wolfpack boxes were all part of our setup, familiar and grounding amidst the vast openness.

The soft earthy tones and layered textures are a tribute to the palette of the Kalahari—warm, dry, and endlessly rich. This art print is more than just a landscape; it’s a memory, a feeling, a fleeting breath of wild freedom.

Printed with care, this artwork is perfect for anyone who longs for the African wilderness or has ever felt the magic of sleeping under a canopy of stars.

Hello :)

A little announcement - my original work is now live on my website! I put my heart and soul into creating these and just the creation process itself has brought me so much joy.

I am a lucky girl, to be doing what I love 🍀

I am working on some animal illustrations for my portfolio and I thought I would share them as I go. The first one is of a baby elephant because my little one adores elephants and I couldn’t wait to see her face when I showed her this little guy 🥹 she gave a BIG smile and blew her lips like an elephant trumpet - definitely my biggest supporter and cheerleader. How motivating 🙏🏼

There’s a yearning in her to create and to hold onto moments, to capture the beauty that stirs her soul.
A longing for adventure and connection—not a restless longing, but a steady, grounded pull that moves her forward.
In nature, she felt whole. Among the birds, the dust, the trees swaying in the breeze, and the thunder of the waterfall, she felt peace.
And she wasn’t alone. The companionship was within—woven from all the parts of herself she had been: the little girl, the searching teen, the young woman, the partner, the mother.
All still there, walking beside her, quietly guiding her.

Today, 1 June, will always be a sad day for me. Five years ago, I lost my father. It’s hard to put into words what it’s like to lose someone you love. Grief is messy—it’s raw and incredibly lonely. I tried to grieve “well,” to really face it and heal. Sometimes I think I’ve got it figured out, and then a lyric plays, or I catch a glimpse of a beautiful landscape, and suddenly I’m back in a memory—vivid, aching—and I feel sad and broken all over again, just for a moment.
I suppose what I’m trying to say is that losing him still feels abstract, like I haven’t quite made sense of it. I recently spoke to a friend who lost her father nearly 20 years ago, and she said she still feels the same. It made me wonder—maybe that’s just how it is. Maybe you never fully “process” losing someone you love. You just learn to live alongside the loss.
This painting is a tribute to some of my fondest memories with my dad, in Botswana—a place we visited often as a family. It was where we slowed down, connected, and stepped away from the rush of everyday life.
My father was an incredible person. His life wasn’t always easy, and he carried that with him, but with me, he looked whole and happy. And in those moments, he made me feel like I was enough.
A quote that always stays with me is:
“We’re all just walking each other home.”
I look forward to sharing more from my Remembering collection throughout June.
