ADELAIDE, AU — Independent progressive rock visionary Shaun Holton has officially announced the resurrection of his celebrated moniker, Projected Twin, for the highly anticipated 2027 studio album, Liber Violaceus. A Bold Sonic Reboot. The upcoming record serves as a direct, rebooted continuation of the project’s landmark 2013 sophomore album, Earth vs World.
After temporarily pivoting toward more acoustic frameworks, Holton has completely retooled the project’s lore and sonic universe. Liber Violaceus (Latin for The Violet Book) promises an uncompromising return to the dark, apocalyptic themes and massive wall-of-sound production that originally defined the early Projected Twin era.
Fans can expect the album to push the absolute extremes of Holton’s musical spectrum. Engineered and produced by Holton, the record bridges the gap between technical, math-rock complexity and deeply vulnerable melodic spaces.
“This album is about the friction between chaos and peace,” says Holton. “I wanted to make music that’s heavy, infectiously groovy, sometimes slick, sometimes brutal and gets people moving, but retains the raw, emotional gut-punch that can make you cry the next second”. It is the true successor to Earth vs World that fans have been waiting for.
Expect Slick & Punchy Production: A modern, hard-hitting mix of guitar riffs alongside intricate, driving rhythms. Cinematic Dynamics, Extreme sonic shifts, moving effortlessly from delicate, atmospheric dream-pop textures to aggressive progressive metal. Soaring Vocals and the return of Holton’s signature, multi-layered choral arrangements and vocal hooks reminiscent of fan-favourites like “Divine Intervention”, “The Ritual” and “Post Secret”
Liber Violaceus is slated for a global independent release in 2027 via ‘The Projected Twin Collective’; a new Indy Label founded by Holton and wife Antanika Hoberg.
