Meet Philip, an original partner in the business, I now have to lure him out with ocean and filming jobs. Big on networking, I’ve been a member with DCTC Inc. since I landed in Agnes Water & Town Of 1770 in early 2020.

This was a such a great night for a more relaxed catch-ups while getting timely and important updates from our community and businesses. It’s has also been great being a new committee member in this phase of DCTC and having Alistair on board. These guys are dedicated and I don't think there is a day that Yana isn't pondering or exploring new ideas, techniques or delicious ways to enjoy the fruit. With so many varieties, this versatile fruit can be made savoury or sweet (and I've had the pleasure of trying both!) They can be dried or fresh, made into teas or icecream... its always delicious!

Not all fruit is created equal though, so its really worthwhile learning and tasting the different varieties and what produces better fruit.

With cyclones off our coast threatening to create havoc I guess this is a good a time as any to share this music video/eduational project for GRC.

We have been pretty lucky since moving here in 2020. With minimal flooding and having narrowly missed the big fires and events prior, it doesnt mean it won't happen again.

In 2023/24 I worked hard with Julie and GRC to create a catchy and educational video that gives residents some idea of what to do to PREPARE for disasters and any emergancy really. DCTC Inc. also provided workshops and useful information for us in Agnes Water as well as for businesses.

Finally a super big shout out to all the hard working emergancy staff and especially volunteers like our Agnes Water Rural Fire Service and Qld Fire Department (woop woop Philip who is now Captain at Agnes Water QFD station) I got to work with the awesome musicans firstly Adrian who drafted the initial song, then extensively with Productions and finally with Andrew Thomson Music who helped tweak and perform the song. Thanks guys!

Turtle Tuesday 🐒
November marks the beginning of turtle nesting season here in Queensland, and it’s an exciting time to witness nature in action! Between November and March, you can spot incredible creatures like loggerhead, green, and flatback turtles as they make their way ashore to lay eggs. They’re arriving now to nest, and in just a couple of months, we’ll start seeing baby turtles hatching and heading for the ocean.

When you visit, remember to keep lights low, stay behind the turtles, and avoid flash photography to protect these little ones on their journey. Bring friends and family to witness the magic – Turtle Tuesday is the perfect excuse to connect with nature and learn about these incredible, ancient travelers!
