I’m still processing how special that past week was.

It wasn’t just the sunsets (though they were pure magic) or the dreamy welcome dinner… it was the people, the conversations, and the sense of real growth.

More than anything, I’m coming home with a full heart. Grateful for the friendships, the growth, and the clarity that comes from being in the right room with the right people.

A heartfelt thank you to all my clients and everyone who has supported me along the way. This milestone celebrates a collective effort and shared success!

For anyone needing a little extra encouragement on this beautiful day, remember that tomorrow isn’t promised. Don’t be afraid to follow your heart’s desires. It’s not just about achieving success, and it’s about personal growth and fulfilment.

Oh if only I could tell you these were an April Fools’ joke...

The second most asked question I get as a social media manager (SMM), (after the notorious “does it even pay your bills” comment) is, what do you really do as a social media manager?

Well, every SMM would have a similar, yet unique response.

For me, I specialise in Instagram only, meaning I am the friendly voice and brain behind a brand’s beautiful Instagram presence, the one responding to all the comments & DMs, the one creating all the content ideas and inspiration boards, and the one filming/editing all that content.

Oh, and of course, the one posting that content every afternoon around 6 PM (or whenever my client’s followers are most active).

And though that may seem pretty tedious, there’s a reason this role is in such demand right now; not many business owners or celebrities have the time to manage the day-to-day tasks, which are crucial to maintaining a good online presence.

Anyway, as I write this while watching the sunset on my balcony, I’m feeling immense gratitude that my iPhone storage didn’t run out today and am feeling motivated to manually post the 4 reels for separate clients (because it’s prime time after all).

I encourage you to show some appreciation and gratitude to your SMMs, the unsung heroes of your online presence.

It may seem innocent enough to share someone else’s work on your account because you appreciate their work

Even if you think you’re actually helping them by giving credit in your caption…

What you might not realise is you’re still running the risk of violating Instagram and Australia’s copyright laws if you don’t receive permission to re-share first.

These laws are in place to protect creators from having their work used without any compensation for their work - content creation may be someones livelihood.

Seeking permission is especially crucial if you are sharing this content with an account associated with a business.

So a good rule of thumb.

If you are unsure whether you can re-share something, get permission, and follow any crediting guidelines given by the owner - which at the very least should be a tag in the post (Insta made this feature for a reason 😉).

What a year this has been! I guess it’s been proof that you can still make some boujee lemonade when life gives you a whole bunch of lemons… 😅

I started Woodys at a challenging time, when I felt robbed by life. The most important person to me was taken away and I hadn’t even celebrated my 21st birthday!

One of the biggest life lessons this has taught me is that life is just so short! And if you’re not going to do something now there really is no better time! You can keep putting things off or tell yourself you’ll do it in a year. Tomorrow isn’t promised so go out and follow your hearts desires!

I always saw my Mumma working long hours to help others! She worked tirelessly to ensure kids get the best possible treatment while in the foster care system! Her work ethic instilled in me, that to make an impact you have to work hard! I can remember when I was struggling to get good grades at school she encouraged me and said “If you work hard and get an ‘A’ on your report card I’ll give you $50 for each one”. Well that ended up costing too much and only lasted one report 😂 but I went from being a C/B student to getting straight A’s and started really enjoying learning! All you really need is on person to believe in you and she was that person to so many!

For me starting this business has absolutely been food for my soul, and I just wish I could tell Mum every single thing I get to do now, I feel her so heavily in everything I do! Though there are defiantly challenges to starting a business and especially doing it on your own, I wouldn’t ever want to leave it for a 9-5 again!

I still don’t know what this next year will look like for Woodys but I do know this year was just a tester!

I am affirming big success, and for that to happen I know I need to do the deep work 🦋✨

Here’s to the limitless possibilities 2024 for all of us and may this truly be our best year yet!

If you want to start taking your social media seriously in 2024, a great place to start is by getting an effective workflow!

The above workflow is one I use for myself and my clients. It always starts with brainstorming and planning, followed by the content creation process, next is the scheduling / getting approval and lastly is engaging with the audience with every post - seeing what was received well and what wasn’t 🤷🏼‍♂️

This may look different depending on your goals and abilities to post consistently! Can I offer a good place to start?

Think about what sets you and your brand apart and how you can show up uniquely on Instagram, whether that be the way you edit your reels or the way you write your captions. Find what’s unique about you, and then adapt that into a manageable workflow.

Whether you post once a week or 6 times a week, it won’t matter if you don’t have a manageable workflow setup so you can remain consistent 🙌🏼
