Before I became a mother I would hear every other parent say how fast it goes… and now I am living proof of it.
The start. The finish.
She’s the same little girl.
Bigger confidence.
Braver heart.
Knows more about maths than we do.
Won’t wear mismatched socks.
She always swipes her bus pass on the bus.
She’s in the skipping team.
Slight traits of teenage attitude coming in hot already.
Still won’t unpack her school bag.
Found the scissors and cut her hair in class.
The good.
The bad.
The emotions.
We only have one shot at parenting and I’m backing my baby girl in every part of her life.
Everyday I ask the same question.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?
And it’s always the same answer.
And the only answer that makes sense…
“To be happy!”
So incredibly proud of my baby girl. I know that I’ll blink and she’ll be finishing high school… so if this isn’t my lesson to slow down and take it all in I don’t know what is…
