cipline of work requires, strength, positive attitude, commitment and lots of blood sweat and tears. Through out my career I have met so many people from across all nations and back grounds. Have heard all the good time stories and all the bad stories and being in the industry especially the FIFO which I was doing for about 5 years theirs a lot of bad stories and its so sad to hear that people have to live a life away from there families, kids, partners, girlfriends etc just to make ends meat or get ahead in life is what they say. Alana: From the UK where I was working in health care, long long days for pretty poor pay so working 70 hours a week was pretty standard. Moving to Australia and having to adhere to work restrictions meant that I couldn't continue in health care so I got in to construction as well. With these same work restrictions it made it impossible for me to get full time work so have been living off the uncertainty of casual hours never knowing if I'd have enough work to afford rent and bills, now with this pandemic despite no longer having work restrictions I have not been able to complete placements for my certificates to allow me to get back in to health care. We have stepped out of my comfort zones, taken a risk and invested in ourselves and we couldn't be happier with where our life is heading now.
