In a world obsessed with finding answers, what if true innovation lies in the exact opposite? What if it’s about sitting in the discomfort of not knowing? What if, instead of trying to innovate based on the metrics of existing systems, we stepped into the spaces beyond data—the uncharted terrain where wilderness thrives beyond the fences? In an age where nothing is certain and complexity reigns, perhaps this is the only way forward.

Today, we’re honoured to have Bayo Akomolafe—writer, speaker, and philosopher—who offers a radically different lens on how we engage with the world’s complexities. Bayo challenges the conventional rush to fix things and invites us to embrace the confusion and uncertainty that arise when we push against the limits of our knowledge. Founder of The Emergence Network and author of These Wilds Beyond Our Fences, Bayo’s work asks us to rethink how we face crises, not by rushing toward solutions, but by creating new spaces for deeper inquiry and transformation.

In this thought-provoking conversation, Bayo takes us on a journey through the beauty of the "cracks"—those spaces of uncertainty that hold the keys to real growth. He encourages us to "stay with the trouble," using confusion as a form of inquiry rather than something to escape.

What does it take to lead with real purpose in today's fast-evolving landscape? In our latest episode, we speak with Sandra Colhando, co-founder of TransforME, about redefining leadership to align with who you truly are and the impact you want to make.

Sandra shares her insights on why purpose isn't about a far-off destination but about staying rooted in your core values and natural talents. She dives into the transformational power of human-centric leadership—where success is measured by the well-being and growth of people, not just the bottom line.

Key Insights from Our Conversation:

Leadership Reimagined: The qualities that matter most now—adaptability, emotional intelligence, and resilience—and how to cultivate them in yourself and your team.

True Inclusion Over Checklists: Why diversity and inclusion are about creating cultures where everyone feels valued and empowered, not just meeting quotas.

The Human-AI Connection: How embracing AI can enhance our uniquely human capacities like creativity, empathy, and finding deeper meaning in our work and lives.

Sandra also offers a practical exercise to help leaders and aspiring leaders identify their core strengths and values. Her approach shows that leading with purpose starts by understanding where you are today and using that clarity to navigate tomorrow.

He is a renowned neuroscientist and author who shares how his lab uses cutting-edge machine learning to uncover amazing insights from brain data, predicting things like sales boosts from ads and hit songs with incredible accuracy. Join me for a transformative conversation on the DNA of Purpose Podcast with Jessica Hickman. Together, we tackle a crucial question: Are you a bystander, and how do you become an upstander in today's challenging environment?

In a world grappling with social injustices, rising inequality, and environmental crises, Jessica, with her ten years of championing upstander awareness, has pinpointed three key bystander zones. Understanding these zones is essential to making the shift towards upstander action.

🔍 The Unconscious Bystander Zone: If you're here, you're in a state of sleepwalking, oblivious to your surroundings. In this state, bullying, abuse, or violence could happen around you without you realising.

🤔 The Uncomfortable Bystander Zone: You see the issues but lack the tools to act, often choosing to look away. If you're here, ask yourself: how can you build the tools you need to stand up and speak out against injustice instead of looking away?

⚠️ The Avoidant Bystander Zone: You are fully aware and capable of taking action but choose inaction. Here, you actively contribute to the problem.
Now, we invite you to step into The Upstander Zone—a gateway to a new paradigm for humanity. Today, our collective responsibility has never been clearer. We need to stand up against discrimination, fight for climate justice, and support those who are marginalised.

Imagine a world where empathy, ethics, and equality are the DNA of our shared humanity. Together, we can defy injustice, embrace unity, and ignite human progress by consciously contributing to a more peaceful and inclusive world. In this world, kindness is currency, and lending a helping hand becomes the new status quo.

So, ask yourself: Am I part of the problem or will I be part of the solution?

Your voice has the power to change the world. Join Jessica in building a generation of Upstanders—one person, one voice, and one action at a time. 🌍✨

As an executive or leader, do you consider yourself to be self-aware?

Are you tuned into the 'Observer Self,' that aspect of yourself attuned to your mindset, emotions, communication, and the energy you bring to the table?

In this video, Jacinta McDonell, the Co-founder of Brave Spaces, discusses why it is so important to get curious about our inner dialogue. Why? Because influence is an inside job, and our ability to get honest with ourselves is vital to our ability to lean into heart-centred and purpose-driven leadership.

For Jacinta, self-awareness mirrors meditation—a crucial practice. Why? Because our ability to make conscious decisions lies in our capacity to transform intentions into action. Without self-awareness, gaining clarity on our intentions is impossible, and the resulting overflow informs every aspect of both our professional and personal lives.

As the Co-founder of Anytime Fitness Australia, Jacinta McDonell achieved the kind of success that most entrepreneurs only dream of. Alongside her brother Justin, they meticulously nurtured the growth of Anytime Fitness into Australia's premier health club chain, establishing an impressive network of over 500 clubs nationwide.

For Jacinta, this pivotal moment arrived when she recognised the necessity of leaping from the summit of Anytime's success, choosing to exit in order to pursue a new calling in the world. Yet, in order to navigate this profound transformation, Jacinta found herself wandering into the wilderness of the 'unbecoming'—the liminal space where identity becomes blurred and the path forward is obscured by uncertainty.

In this video, Jacinta talks about her personal journey through the unknown, where one must confront the unsettling reality of not knowing who they are or what they truly desire in order to give birth to a new purpose. Today, she provides Brave Spaces for other leaders and leaders in life to navigate the journey of self-discovery.

NEW EPISODE: The Humanico Way: Unleashing Human Potential, Fostering Shared Purpose, and Cultivating Mattering in the Workplace, with Paul Rush and Fiona Vale

Today, we're delving into a big question: What does it take to cultivate a purpose-driven, human-centric workplace where every individual's potential is not just acknowledged, but actively nurtured and celebrated?

While it may seem obvious that organisations would prioritise a human-first approach, the reality often falls short, with investment in employee development typically reserved for executives, leaders, and high potentials, leaving many behind.

So, as leaders, how do we dismantle outdated hierarchies and embrace a more inclusive, purposeful, egalitarian view of our colleagues and co-workers? And how can technology empower us to ignite all of the above?

To shed light on these questions, we're thrilled to welcome Fiona Vale and Paul Rush, the co-founders of Humanico, who are revolutionising how organisations cultivate their most valuable asset—their employees. Over the last year, Paul and Fi have navigated the unpredictable waves of startup life, gearing up for expansion after a series of successes. They secured nearly $1 million in Seed funding last year and were honoured with the Burning Heroes Award for Global Reach in November. This year, they're poised to expand Humancio's mission globally. If you're a leader dedicated to addressing the challenges of Global Warming, you're undoubtedly familiar with what we call 'The Growth Paradox'. It's the constant struggle of managing a business within a capitalist framework where success is often equated with relentless growth, even though such growth exacerbates the climate crisis.

But what if there's another way? What if we could pursue both profitability and positive impact simultaneously? In our latest video, Mange and I delve into an intriguing concept: shifting from a growth mindset to one of expansion. This involves reimagining growth not just vertically, but horizontally—creating opportunities in regions that need development while mitigating the environmental impact of high-emission industries in the West.

While we don't profess to have all the answers, we invite you to join us in exploring the potential of this transformative approach.

NEW EPISODE: In conversations about climate change, we often encounter narratives filled with doom and gloom, alongside predictions from scientists that are genuinely alarming. Consequently, individuals may experience anxiety and even feel paralysed believing the problem to be insurmountable.

If this resonates with you, then today's episode may begin to shift your perspective on what's achievable when humans come together in community, embrace collaboration, and unite in service to combating climate change. In my view, it's crucial that we share these stories, because in small yet powerful clusters all over the world, individuals are actively taking steps and generating new ideas, inventions, and innovations that are reshaping the future today.

Today's guest is Mange Kumarasamy and he is the co-founder of Climate Team alongside Robin Wyatt. Climate Team is a platform that brings together businesses, freelancers, investors and enthusiasts who are committed to reversing climate change. They provide a way for startups and scale-ups to connect with qualified freelancers and motivated investors, and provide opportunities for all of these people to be the change our planet needs.

Today Mange and I explore the full spectrum of how you can become the solution, how you can join a community or incredible solution makers and finally we look at the levers igniting a solutions economy where the brands that will win, will be the brands that care about a better tomorrow.
