Great news! A new Qantas flight schedule for the Sydney Bendigo route starts from October 30 and there is an addition of one extra return flight per week ✈️

Following feedback provided to the airline, the new schedule allows passengers to travel Bendigo to Sydney return in a day, Monday to Friday.

It also features midday flights out of Bendigo on Sunday, Monday and Friday, and the opportunity to fly to Sydney on a Saturday.

There’s a new billboard in town!

Located behind The Capital, local artist Keira Long’s bold artwork depicting the late Uncle Jack Charles is the first image to appear. It will be in place for the next six months.

The billboard will be curated by Bendigo Venues & Events, and is a new exhibition space to showcase and support local creatives.

Ms Long’s original artwork was first seen at the opening of Bendigo’s First Nations gallery Djaa Djuwima last November (located in the Bendigo Visitor Centre).

The artwork has been purchased by the City and will have a new home at Ulumbarra Theatre to celebrate the late Uncle Jack Charles, who enjoyed a prolific career in the performing arts and was highly respected for his work in the community as an Elder and activist. Uncle Jack also played an important role at the opening of the Ulumbarra Theatre in 2015 where he captivated the audience talking about Dja Dja Wurrung history.
