The 2022 Austrian Grand Prix is ready to welcome fans and riders with plenty up for grabs: the title lead, honours of winning on KTM home soil and of course the exhilaration of having Marc Marquez back in the paddock to provide an update on his current health, condition and return date to the premier class. The Spanish Ant was seen in the paddock working with his team, discussing the arm surgery undertaken, rehabilitation exercises and to reacquaint himself with the team in particular his engineer Santi Hernández. We are still not aware of when M Marquez will come back to race, however, we know he is on the right path to achieve the goal of getting back on board his Honda machine and we know Honda need him more than ever due to their current performance levels.

The bone and arm itself is feeling better which is great news for M Marquez who has been super patient with the healing process. This time around, the multi–World Champion has not rushed back and instead is going about the rehabilitation program with a clear pathway to regain an opportunity to fight for a title once again. Everyone must remember that M Marquez is not able to have another surgery after this one, so this is the last opportunity to race like a warrior and go for the glory. In addition to the analysis of his injury, we have managed to gain some further insight from the Repsol Honda rider which is reflected below for those who follow his journey closely.

The 2022 Le Mans MotoGP was a packed house with a humongous crowd, an absolute stand out for the sport and a record for sporting events in France. The fans arrived early, cheered loudly and made sure that both Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco knew they were watching on with hope that one of the local riders could win or at least step up on to podium. With that said, the race did not go to plan for either of those riders and it was a sensational display of speed, courage and performance that the “Beast Bastianini” took home the glory. The young Italian rider put immense pressure on title rival Pecco Bagnaia who buckled after making two mistakes, crashing out in a dramatic fashion allowing his two fellow Ducati team members to pass him and score first and second with Aprilia MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaro securing third place over home grown hero Fabio Quartararo.

It was a long walk back to the pit box for Bagnaia who looked distraught after realising title points were lost, a victory was gone and his teammate taking a step closer to him in terms of points. Sometimes the sport can crush your happiness with a small error. The temperatures over the weekend were extremely hot and it was a gamble on tyres for Australian rider Miller who decided to opt for a soft front and soft rear tyre. Miller had no confidence or proper quality feeling with the medium tyre, and it was the card he needed to play in order to keep pushing for a new deal with Ducati. Rumours are that he has also been linked to KTM. No doubt, Miller deserves to be re-signed, although Bastianini is on the hunt for his job especially since Jorge Martin has achieved yet another DNF. The score board is in favour of “The Beast”.

The 2022 Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix was sensational with thrills, spills and a dominant victory from French rider Fabio Quartararo. He was on another level pushing his bike to the absolute limit and smiling from ear to ear with a bike that finally performed after so much doubt was clearly displayed in his body language from the previous events. It was a race where some excelled, others made mistakes and the World Championship became closer than anticipated with Quartararo and Alex Rins leading the charge.

At present, we have Yamaha, Suzuki and Aprilia as the top three manufacturers in terms of the individual rider Championship which is outstanding considering the previous dominance of one over the other. The race itself has several riders of the day which include race winner Quartararo, Rins for his achievement of finishing 4th after starting 23rd and Aleix Espargaro who never gave up even when the riders in front of him were battling ferociously, that being Jack Miller and Joan Mir who ended up in the gravel trap after working so hard for their podium positions.

Overview:

The 2022 Austin, Texas MotoGP race was incredible with thrills, spills and battles that put Enea Bastianini back on top of the World Championship after a glorious victory over Spain’s Alex Rins and Australia’s Jack Miller. The young Italian rider made the decision to go after Miller who led majority of the race until the very end. What we know about Bastianini is that he is very good at conversing his tyres with the Ducati whereas Miller uses up a bit more of the rear tyre so this became the key point allowing the Gresini Racing MotoGP rider to secure the top spot.

The race itself was a battle for Miller who pushed to get out in front, feeling comfortable on board his bike and knowing that every race is an opportunity to secure another contract. Whereas Rins was fully aware that if he started up higher the workload would have been less. The goal for Rins in 2022 besides the consistent results is to qualify better because the Suzuki riders are giving themselves more work than necessary! With the ride of the day going to Marc Marquez, he is certainly deserving. We knew he could have won the race and if the technical problem at the start did not arise, we may have seen even more a battle for the lead. Marquez went from last place to finishing in sixth place in such a dynamic way.

The 2021 MotoGP World Champion has been crowned with Fabio Quartararo from the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team securing the title after Pecco Bagnaia managed to crash out with fellow Ducati rider Jack Miller also tumbling through the gravel. It was a dramatic race and Marc Marquez secured back-to-back victories showcasing confidence plus a stronger shoulder which is nice to see considering his turbulent re-entry into the sport since the major accident that almost cost him his career.

The race was excellent from start to finish with dramatic crashes, high quality racing and a surprise tyre choice by Ducati riders Bagnaia and Miller last minute which certainly was not an ideal decision when you look back on the race. With minutes to go before the warmup lap, both riders opted for the front hard tyre and after several laps riding defensively for his teammate, Miller crashed out. With only a handful of laps to go and immense pressure from Marquez, Bagnaia crashed out almost like a mirror image to the Australian rider and the title bid was over within seconds. It was a shame to see the two riders end up in the gravel, though this sport is demanding and at times does not forgive.

2021 Post Race Report: Styrian MotoGP - Jorge Martín Almoguera winning in glorious fashion.

The headlines are all about Jorge Martin, a rookie rider on board the Pramac Ducati MotoGP machine who took the circuit and its fellow rivals by storm. The weather was a talking point for the race weekend with rain hitting the circuit and talks of moving the race. However, that did not occur and in fact, the weather held besides a first lap incident that caused carnage and a red flag. Dani Pedrosa lost control into turn three over the crest of the hill and as he lost control, Lorenzo Salvadori from the Aprilia Gresini MotoGP Team hit his bike severing the fuel lines and tank causing a fireball explosion and both bikes turning to charcoal MotoGP machines! We all know what happened in 2020 with turn three and to see another incident occur here, it was almost like the circuit was cursed. Luckily, everyone escaped without any major injury and with their lives. The race was a battle between multiple manufacturers and a good one with many riders having to find their limit and go beyond it.
