Ready for a huge release of something so deeply entrenched – and possibly so very private – but well beyond its use-by date?
Welcome then, to this PowerHouse of Lunar Eclipse Energy. And while I figure out where to start with this powerful ‘gateway’ type energy, perhaps a trip back to the basics is in order.
Moon transits through Scorpio, our 8th Sign, are often deep, sometimes difficult, usually profound. Sandwiched between Libra and Sagittarius, two much lighter Signs, we get these Moon transits monthly through Scorpio, and they can be a time when we are quieter, more reflective, seeking more solitude. They can be the Tunnel to the Light.
A Full Moon in Scorpio adds capital letters into the frame. Deep. Difficult. Profound.
So when an Eclipse comes along – and a Total Eclipse at that – and it’s connected to a Super Moon – well, capitals at the front of letters simply don’t do it justice. Because suddenly, these themes are In. Your. Face.
DEEP. DIFFICULT. PROFOUND.
Scorpio is the Sign where we keep our *secrets*. These *secrets* will often pertain to the House that Scorpio rules for you. A Second House Scorpio – possibly around money themes. A Fifth House Scorpio – possibly around gambling themes. An Eighth House Scorpio – possibly around themes to do with s*x. And so on. It’s often the ‘darker’ or ‘taboo’ side of the House properties.
Scorpio is also the Sign where much of our *fear* is born, based and perpetuates, and again, following on from the lines above, will often pertain to the House that Scorpio rules for you. This one’s a little more difficult to pin down though – where *secrets* are usually as a result of actions, *fear* can be innate. Sometimes it’s a phobia. Sometimes it’s not ‘rational’ or based on anything, other than ‘it is’. Potentially it’s been ‘brought in with you’.
And then there’s the Privacy Element. Scorpio is a deeply private Sign – and thus these *secrets* and *fears* are often either left to be dealt with by self (or a professional counsellor of some sort) – or they are not dealt with. But that typically results in them still being there – a constant in the background, becoming foreground when the relevant prompt or ping comes along, or limiting you in ways you may – or may not – be aware of.
Scorpio is also a Sign of Elimination. It’s where we purge. It’s where toxins and poisons can dwell – and it’s where toxins and poisons can be purged.
And linking this all together – exactly how healthy are *secrets* and *fears*?
Every now and then, a major event comes along into Scorpio, and it not only exposes *things* that are deep, potentially dark, usually known only to self (or even not ‘known’ as such) – and the opportunity to deal with these *things* is exposed. I like that term. Exposed.
Because that is exactly what this SuperMoon Lunar Eclipse is set to do.
Expose. And, if you’re willing, Eliminate.
Lunar Eclipses Bring Things To Light. Actually, it’s the Full Moon that does that – what the added element of an Eclipse does is that it eclipses something from the story – something that is no longer valid (whether we think it or not) – and ushers in Change. Elimination. Release.
And New Chapter.
An Eclipse is a time of veiled energy. For the duration of the Eclipse, there is opportunity to dip behind the veil, behind the mask, behind the front – and dig deep. And in Scorpio, we’ve got the excavation tools out.
In many ways, this Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio is all about Facing Your Fears – except with the South Node so closely entangled, it’s not simply about acknowledging or facing them – it’s also about Release. Welcome Release. Long Over Due Release. The ‘no-looking-back’ type Release that only Scorpio energy knows.
Whatever patterning this Scorpio Lunar Eclipse is touching, it’s no longer valid. And the opportunity to change, to embrace a new way, to advance on a new path, is here. It may not be easy – nothing in Scorpio ever is – but it will be releasing. Rewarding In ways you may not even begin to imagine.
Most affected – or touched – by this Lunar Eclipse energy, are Scorpios, and those of us with a planet/point 23-28 deg of Scorpio, the other Fixed Signs (Aquarius, Ta**us, Leo), and similar zone of the other Water Signs (Cancer & Pisces) and Signs Sextile (Virgo & Capricorn).
A lot to absorb, right? Here’s some more.
Saturn Square this Lunar Eclipse – does not make things any easier. Saturn is a rigid energy, and streaming in hard could make this Eclipse feel very rock-and-a-hard place. Best way forward is to acknowledge Lessons – and move on. Though Saturn could also be seen as the Pay Attention!!! (we’ve all had that teacher, right?!) - in case it’s needed.
Neptune Trine this Lunar Eclipse – the counter-balance to the Saturn Square. A trine aspect is not as impactful as a Square aspect – but it’s very handy energy to have in your corner. It’s almost the ‘it will all be fine’ in this equation we may need.
And finally, the Mars Trine to this Lunar Eclipse. Mars of course rules this Eclipse (traditional Ruler) – and is in building conjunction to Neptune – thus adding impetus and increased influence to the Neptune energies. Mars is also the Planet Of Do. Sitting favourably to the Eclipse it rules. Do you need more?
If you do, take a wide-ish (3+deg) s*xtile to Pluto, the modern ruler of Scorpio, and run with that. Transformation On Tap. If you choose.
This turned out to be a much longer piece than I was anticipating – but it feels absolutely right.
I’ve got a note in here that I must use the word festering – so here it is. But yes. Things being brought up now, and ready for release, are deep-rooted, and have possibly been festering for years. Decades. Lifetimes.
And let’s not forget Mercury Retrograde. As I mentioned in yesterday’s piece, Mercury is currently giving us a lot to think about – and with Mercury’s Station Direct virtually opposite this Eclipse degree, early next month, the thinking part at least – and opportunity to change thinking/perspective around something very deep, personal and entrenched – is very active until then.
I get that quadrupled with this Eclipse sitting opposite my own natal Mercury (Ruler) within degree, while the South Node is both sitting on top of my natal Juno, and directly opposite my natal Mars (Chart Ruler). And yes, I do have some stories to tell. Soon.
In the meantime, all I can say is dig deep. Be truthful with yourself. And understand the opportunity for a major adieu to something no longer serving – or frankly, something which may never have served – is at hand.
And a brand-new phase awaits. If you dare.
