UQFPS will be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 15th October (week 12). There will be free pizza 🍕!

Please note there will be no Weekly Windup that day and we are in a different room.

Casting Call:  Denouement

SUMMARY: A regular patrol in Adelorn National Park takes an unusual turn when lone ranger Frances encounters an amnesiac hiker, Jas. As the pair race against time to get down the mountain in bushfire conditions, unsettling secrets about Jas’s past come to light.

Role descriptions:
We are looking for two actors:

MACKENZIE “MAC” JORDAN. 18-23. Park ranger and long-time resident of Adelorn Creek. Mac is enthusiastic about his job and very diplomatic, meaning that he usually handles guided tours and public press.

DARCY LAWRENCE. 18-25. Park ranger and the resident ART, the oldest of the trio. Cool in a crisis with an uncanny knack for predicting the weather. The Nineteen Fires occurred in Darcy’s first year as a ranger, the memories of which still linger around the park today.

We’re looking for cast members for the upcoming UQFPS drama short film ‘Pax’, written and directed by Bede House.

SUMMARY:
An impoverished alcoholic father attempts, along with his unwilling daughter, to escape the governance of the authoritarian regime which killed his father.

Pax is the story of a search for peace in an increasingly violent moment in time, and the realisation that peace is found through sacrifice.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:
We are casting for three roles:

Michelle (18-25): A young woman, a university student.  She is attached to the world and the regime. She lives under it as it is all she knows, and therefore is not interested in leaving.

Michelle’s Father (40-60): The father of Michelle. His father was killed by the regime he lives under. He is attached to his earlier life, and therefore wishes to escape the world he lives in.

Head Officer (30-60): Merely a focal point of the regime, a machine. He feels nothing of his own and acts strictly according to the rules set out for him.
