So after 5000+ kms we head home from an amazing trip. We left Nagambie @ 8:45 for this to happen 50kms from home. We are so lucky that there were not other vehicles, let alone a semi trailer coming along in the right lane on the Hume Hwy. I’m sure our angels above were looking out for us.
Thankyou to all the people that stopped to see if we were ok and these great young boys that winched the van up for us. Very scarey but we are home and ok other than being pretty shattered and shaken. Van towed to a holding yard in Epping for insurance

Last week we had a incident coming home to Horsham from Lake Burranbett.
We headed off after checking everything ..as we do ..heard a big noise ,stop checked things again !!
Got on the main road near Hadden hit a huge bump before a corner doing 80km ,my hubby said hang on .Then said hang on loudly ,the caravan is off the to ute. He could see it in his side mirror .He didn't panic as he had done a driving defence course years ago.It pulled us to the middle of the road ..Luckily the young guy that was a few seconds off coming towards saw we were in trouble. Thanks Sam for his help ..We pulled the ute and the van up slowly.
We couldn't work out why it happened till we checked our dash camera rear and saw it. We aren't sure if was human error or mechanical .
Without getting on your hands and knees ,pin was in .. Hardly any damage to the back of the ute but pulled the wiring off the van and dented the empty gas bottle..A new pull D035 being put on.
We don't need to hear any bad judgement, just putting it out there . Thank goodness we are still here to tell the story😬

There was a post on here last week in regards to Vaseline intensive care, aloe soothe, ( green bottle) being use to stop insect and mosquitoe bites. My husband & I are currently in Mossman Qld and have been using it since and have found it excellent. Its on special at Woolie at moment for arounf $5.

Posting todays experience. A reminder to always be aware of risk however it may present. The photos are of our van ensuite which was pierced by a falling tree branch today. We are in a NSW coastal caravan park. Contacted the park emergency mobile and left message (nil response/ or post on site inspection by management as to our welfare). I randomly phoned a local builder to get material and tools to temporarily repair / waterproof roof ( Paul went out of his way to get me what I needed to effect repairs ). The repairs took place ( me up on van roof ) in a near full park with numerous fellow caravan travellers cooking/ relaxing bbqing in full view! Not one person even asked what was going on let alone offered help! I know good people are out in life but today except a local builder Paul, the caravan community sat by and chose to be spectators!

My wife and I are staying in a van park where the midges are absolutely ferocious

A local put us onto this product, and although not an insecticide, it seems to stop the midges biting and if bitten, soothes the itch

Certainly works for us and, Mrs is very happy 🎉
