I used to chase goals like my life depended on it: career milestones, degrees, constant self-improvement. I was proud to be the woman who did it all and gave it all.
Then I became a mum.
At first, I tried to balance both. Hustling through work while squeezing in moments with my kids. But no matter how hard I tried, I always felt like I was missing something. Actually, I was missing something. Them.
One day, it hit me, they’re growing too fast. I blinked, and baby giggles turned into full sentences. Tiny hands into school bags. And I realized I didn’t want to miss any more of it.
So I made the scariest, most beautiful decision of my life, I slowed down. I chose them.
No, it’s not glamorous. No performance reviews or promotions. But now I get front-row seats to every milestone. Every “watch this, Mum!” Every sleepy cuddle. Every laugh that shakes their whole little bodies.
And honestly? I’ve never felt more fulfilled.
