The right story can change how a child feels about reading 📚

For some young readers, that story’s filled with wild pigs, motorbike mishaps, fishing beneath the stars, and a mischievous puppy named Dash.

“The Dirt Eaters” by Jacqueline Graham follows brothers Clancy and Rusty through regional Australian adventures that rarely go according to plan. A frightened puppy needs a home, wild pigs are tearing through the farm, a peaceful fishing trip becomes anything but peaceful, and one particularly grumpy turkey causes Christmas chaos.

Written for children aged 6 to 9, the early reader books combine quick-moving stories, large text and engaging illustrations. They’re especially suited to children beginning to read independently, building their confidence, or needing a little more encouragement to pick up a book.
