One Man’s Mouth Can Level a City | Spiritual Principle 131 | Proverbs 11:10-11

Your words are not just your problem. Proverbs 11:11 says a city gets exalted or demolished by what comes out of the people in it.

The Hebrew word for overthrown is haras, to tear down what took years to build. You don’t walk into a room neutral. You tilt it.

Misplaced hope doesn’t just disappoint — it perishes with the man who held it.

Proverbs 11:7-9 moves through three connected ideas: expectation anchored in the wrong place vanishes at death with nothing transferred, the righteous man faces real trouble but is pulled out of it, while the wicked man walks into the exact spot he vacated.

Verse 9 identifies the weapon as godless speech and the defence as discernment. The question isn’t whether trouble is coming. It’s what your hope is resting on before it arrives.

Most men assume the danger is out there somewhere. Proverbs 11 says it’s already moving inside you.

The Hebrew word for those evil desires in verse 6 is havvah — craving that rushes toward what it wants and falls in the process. Not a dramatic explosion. Just appetite, moving quietly in one direction, day after day.

The complete man’s righteousness is making his path straight today. The treacherous man’s craving is pulling him toward the net today. Same mechanism, opposite direction.

The question isn’t what you decided in the past. It’s what’s running inside you right now.

Your Price Tag Reveals Your Character | Spiritual Principle 127 | Proverbs 11:1-2
Most men adjust the price depending on who’s asking. That’s not flexibility. That’s a distorted scale.

Proverbs 11 opens in the marketplace, not the temple. Which tells you exactly where God is paying attention.

The Hebrew behind “dishonest scales” isn’t about a rounding error. It’s deliberate misrepresentation. You know the real number. You just show a different one.

And verse 2 connects it straight to pride and insecurity. The man who inflates is propping something up. The man who shrinks is hiding something. Both are presenting a false weight.

The question is whether you’re the same man in the deal as you are on Sunday.

Your Mouth Will Cut You Off | Spiritual Principle 126 | Proverbs 10:31-32

Solomon closes Proverbs 10 with a word most men skip past. Karat. Cut off. It’s not a metaphor for going quiet — it’s covenant language for being severed from the community you were corrupting.

The perverse tongue in verse 31 isn’t a man saying the wrong things. It’s a man whose heart has already inverted, and his mouth is just telling the truth about that.

Solomon opened chapter 10 asking what your life is producing for your family. He closes it asking what your mouth is producing for the people around you.

Same question. Different lens. What’s yours producing?

You’re Not Lost. You Left. | Spiritual Principle 125 | Proverbs 10:28-30

The Hebrew word maoz in Proverbs 10:29 doesn’t mean God gives you protection if you’re faithful long enough. It means the path itself is the fortress.

The moment you step off it, you’re not lost. You walked out of the walls.

Tomorrow we finish Proverbs 10.

You Don’t Lose Days. You Lose Years. | Spiritual Principle 124 | Proverbs 10:26-27

When you stall on what you were sent to do, the cost lands on whoever was waiting — not just on you.

Proverbs 10:26 uses vinegar on teeth and smoke in eyes to describe exactly that disruption. And verse 27 gets specific about the price.

Fear of the Lord adds days one at a time. Fear of man costs you years.

Storms Don’t Test Strength, They Expose Structure | Spiritual Principle 123 | Proverbs 10:25

Most men spend their energy trying to be strong enough for what’s coming. Solomon says that’s the wrong question.

Proverbs 10:25 isn’t about surviving the storm. It’s about what the storm finds when it arrives.

Olam yesod — everlasting foundation. Structural. Already in place. The whirlwind doesn’t build anything. It just shows you what was always there.

Don’t Let Fear Be Your Foundation | Spiritual Principle 122 | Proverbs 10:23-24

The Hebrew word for the wicked man’s fear in Proverbs 10:24 is megurah — dread. Not reverence. The anxious, crouching kind.

Solomon says it comes upon him. Not because fear causes the outcome. Because dread and destruction share the same root: nothing solid underneath.

What are you actually standing on?

Your Inner Life Has a Body Count | Spiritual Principle 120 | Proverbs 10:20-21

The righteous man’s words shepherd people. Sustain them over time. Solomon calls that tongue choice silver — nivhar, silver that’s already been through fire. The fool dies not because wisdom wasn’t available. He just never let it form him.

What would the people in your house say your words have been building in them?

Your Mouth Is Managing You | Spiritual Principle 119 | Proverbs 10:18-19

Solomon isn’t gentle here. Hidden hatred is lying. Slander is foolishness. And too many words aren’t just careless — pesha, wilful transgression, lives inside the volume.

The quiet man gets one stanza out of four. What is your mouth covering right now?

Pride Makes Men Wander | Spiritual Principle 118 | Proverbs 10:17

Some men binge wisdom and starve in pride.

They’ll take notes, share clips, quote truth — yet reject the one word that could change them.

Instruction can inform you. Correction has to govern you.

Proverbs 10:17 isn’t describing two types of men in general. It’s describing two postures. One wants to be formed. The other wants to be affirmed.

Who in your life can tell you that you’re wrong — and you’ll listen?
