Day 25

Last night we said goodbye, as our golden boy made his final adventure over the golden bridge.

He has been our loyal, loving chosen child since the moment we laid eyes on him, over 12 years ago.

Although he was small, he was our protector, keeping everyone safe from the dangers of the world.

We love you, Mr B, your smile, your wagging tail, even your high pitched bark.
It hurts to not have you by our sides, getting under our feet and telling us when it is dinner time.

You deserve nothing but the best, Mr B.
Rest easy our forver puppy and know you were loved beyond words, cuddles and stratches.

Just outside of Warwick, we hit the abandoned gold mines again, but this time we were armed with a metal detector and a bucket of water.

The fur babies really enjoyed investigating the new smells and sounds of the forest, with Chase being disappointed with the lack of water, and deciding to spend most of his time in the car.

Time out in nature really soothes the soul, and by finding something we all like to do makes it enjoyable for everyone.

It was a chilly sunny morning, and with a hot drink and some fur baby cuddles, we started the day.

We were blessed with a show from the local Corella that lasted long enough for me to get my camera out.

We did do some fossicking, so keep an eye out our video on that one.

Camp Day in Drake NSW.

Today, I walked around the small town to investigate the remaining local icons.
With the town booming in the late 1800's with the discovery of gold rivers and ranges, it is now home to only a few.

Thankfully the Lunatic Hotel is still going strong with raffles, live music and a large fire pit in the outdoor area.

It is the small towns that make the trip memorable.

Day 1
On the Road

What a busy day that was. Putting the finishing touches on the bus (replacing the struts on the storage bins before making the quick trip to pick up the gazebo, drop off the fridge and then we were off to Kilcoy for the night.
Well that didn’t happen!
With a fuel stop in Wamuran QLD, that is where we ending up for the night, thanks to a broken VBelt.

But not to worry, the ground was level, there was grass for the dogs and it was FREE lol!!!

If this is the type of adventures we get on day 1, I can not wait for the rest!!!

From the wiring to the mechanics 🧰

In his spare time Chris just potters around… Today he checked in the motor bay… just to make sure everything is top notch for our big trip around Australia.

We even found the safety gear and spare wheel jack in case we get a flat tyre!

Everything looked “legit” in his eyes so I’m pleased with that outcome.

But I still have my fingers and toes crossed as we hit the road!

Chris is working hard on the electrics of the bus. Removing all the wires that we no longer need… like the PA system - that we could not get to work, or the emergency hammer alarm. He is still to find all the wiring to the aircon that we removed and the door - since that no longer closes by air.

It’s so bloody good having someone as handing as him around!!!

The list is getting smaller, but the jobs themselves are getting bigger!!!
We only have 5 more weeks till we are on the road... so we will be pushing from here on out!
