Beautiful Voices is a music program for bohemians and people who appreciate the magic and positive influence of beautiful music, words and melodies. Songs on this show are carefully chosen and feature songwriters/poets from the 1970's till now, from around the globe. The atmosphere is warm and contemplative with the odd political and electronic track thrown in. Ethno-fusion features large, as do sacred and spiritual tracks. Words do matter, and the songs I choose often carry words of wisdom, healing, courage or love over the ether into the wider world. I believe you can change the world with Beauty and the title of a Leonard Cohen Tribute concert come to mind: “...came so far for beauty.” On Beautiful Voices you'll hear Leonard Cohen, Kerrianne Cox, Nina Simone, Baaba Maal, Nick Cave, David Gray, Nick Drake, Laurie Anderson, Gabrielle Roth, Deya Dova, Deva Premal, Angus & Julia Stone, Trevor Hall, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Jane Birkin, Archie Roachm, Ryan Adams, Annett Louisan, Ben Howard, Yma Sumac, Cesaria Evora, David Bridie, Bob Dylan, Jaques Brel, Oka, Gurrumul, Joan Baez, Paul Simon, Ben Harper, Martha Tilston, 1 Giant Leap, Sigur Ros, Miriam Lieberman, Nano Stern, Katie Noonan, Xavier Rudd - to mention just a few.
