just dropped their 2026 lineup and is entering a brand new chapter.

Celebrating 30 years this August, the festival is expanding beyond the traditional festival grounds and further into the heart of Byron Bay, with a fresh focus on community, connection and place.

This year’s theme, Sanctuary, reflects that shift. Alongside one of the strongest literary lineups in the festival’s history, expect free events on Main Beach, a new Railway Park festival hub, live music, markets, beach yoga, ocean bathing, live podcasts and conversations that spill out across town.

It’s a big evolution for one of Australia’s most loved literary festivals—and we’ll be taking you behind the scenes, sharing our favourite sessions, chatting to authors and bringing you plenty more coverage in the lead-up to opening weekend.

MOONLIGHT’S RAMEN NIGHT IS BACK! And take it from us, the hype is real. 🍜

Just when Byron starts slipping into hibernation mode, somehow has everyone making Wednesday night plans again. Rich house-made broth, cold drinks, and a room full of people chasing their noodle fix.

There are five to choose from: Pork Belly, Miso Salmon, Chicken Yakitori, Chilli Beef, and a vegan Mushroom Ramen. Plus a handful of add-ons and starters for anyone not ready to stop at just ramen.

Seats disappear quickly, so book ahead if you’re organised. If you’re not, it’s still worth rolling through. The tables turn quickly and more often than not, the team will find a way.

Running every Wednesday throughout winter at Moonlight Japanese in Bay Lane.

Northern Rivers artist Katie Pink is returning to Garage Gallery with Bubblegum Bruises Vol II — a vibrant new exhibition bringing together paintings, sculptures and immersive installations that explore themes of identity, transformation, softness and strength.

One of the exhibition’s most unexpected features is Pink’s use of synthetic wigs and hair throughout the sculptural works, creating playful, visually striking pieces that blur the line between softness and strength.
