Another room renovated ✅🙌🏻🩷

My new office/craft room is finally coming together, and I'm so excited! ✨

A few finishing touches still to go, but it's mostly done, and I'm absolutely loving how it's turned out! 🥰

But this room means a little more than new floors and fresh paint… 🩷

This is where I'll be building my business. Where the masterclass gets recorded, where I chat with women just like me, and where I work towards our biggest goal: bringing Travis home from FIFO so we can work on the farm and build our life together. 🏡

Between work, family, farm life and the never-ending renovations, I finally have a space that's just mine, for creating, crafting AND building something for our future. ✂️🎀💻

9am. Rainy Saturday. Coffee in hand.

And my whole week of content is already scheduled.

Seven posts. Facebook and Instagram. Done before most people have rolled out of bed.

I'm not saying that to brag. I'm saying it because for years I told myself I didn't have time to build a business. Too busy with work, the property, FIFO life, everything.

Turns out it's not hard. It's just a decision, and then a system.

One quiet hour on a Saturday morning has bought me a whole week where the business keeps showing up, even when I'm out in the paddock or at my day job.

Here's what nobody tells you about starting something new as a busy mum: motivation doesn't last. 😓

It shows up on Monday, all fired up. By Thursday the creek's flooded, someone's sick, and it's packed its bags.

What's getting me through is a daily method.
A DMO, or Daily Method of Operation.

A few small non-negotiables I do every day, whatever the day throws at me.

On a good day that's an hour.
On a hard day it's ten minutes on my phone in the car.
Both count.

I'm working through a 30-day DMO right now and ticking off every day.

Not to judge myself.

To see the proof that I'm showing up, especially on the weeks it doesn't feel like it.

Some of my favourite memories aren't the big, planned-out holidays, they're afternoons like this. Lines in the water, kids arguing over who caught the biggest one, Travis actually home and not counting down to the next swing. It's easy to think fun has to be some big production. Most of the time it's just choosing to show up for these small moments together, especially the ones we don't get nearly enough of. This is what we hold onto for the weeks he's away. 🖤

Confession: I said yes to this business back in 2020.

Then I did absolutely nothing with it for years. 😫

Not because I didn't believe in it. Because life was full, and there was always a reason it wasn't the right time.
The property.
The 9-5 job.
The kids.
The swing roster.

Sound familiar? 🤔

As mums and FIFO wives we are brilliant at showing up for everyone else.

Somewhere along the way I stopped showing up for me.

This year I decided waiting for the right time was just a polite way of saying no. 🙌

My why has two parts.
One: bring Travis home, so we're building our farm and our family side by side.
Two: prove to myself I'm a woman who follows through.

I'm building it my way. From the kitchen table, in my own voice, no hype and no hard sell. 🌟

Nobody hands you a manual when you marry a FIFO worker 📖

You learn on the job.
How to fix the pump with a YouTube video and fingers crossed. 🤞
How to do the airport run without crying until you're back in the car. ✈️
How to be mum, dad, farmhand and accounts department all in the same day. ❤️
And you get really, really good at it.

But being good at holding the fort isn't the same as wanting to hold it forever.

My husband works away so we can have a good life. The irony is… we barely get to live it together. 😓

So I'm doing something about it. Slowly, honestly, from my kitchen table on 38 acres in far north Queensland. 🐄
