The Reflective OT: Knowing When It’s You is about something that isn’t often taught at university or in professional development, but has a huge impact on our clinical practice.

As OTs, we don’t just bring our knowledge into sessions. We also bring our own nervous systems, lived experiences, boundaries, beliefs and emotional responses. Sometimes these strengthen our practice. Sometimes they unintentionally influence our clinical reasoning, relationships or decision-making.

In this 90-minute online session we’ll explore:
• Countertransference and why it matters
• The emotional labour of OT
• Burnout and compassion fatigue
• Recognising when our own experiences are shaping therapy
• Practical reflective strategies to support ethical, sustainable practice

This isn’t about judgement or criticism. It’s about becoming more self-aware so we can show up more intentionally for the children, young people and families we support, while also protecting ourselves from burnout.

I genuinely think this is one of the most important conversations we can be having as a profession.

What is the most powerful tool in your OT toolbox is not something you do in session at all?

It is what happens between session, in the home, at the dinner table, on the school run. Caregiver capacity is one of the most evidence based interventions we as paediatric OT have and one of the areas we get the least training in.
This PD is everything you have wanted to know about building caregiver capacity. It is highly researched, grounded in clinical experience and built to give you practical strategy you can walk away with and use tomorrow.

“Do I need to become NDIS registered?”
It’s one of the biggest questions currently being asked in the paediatric OT space and honestly, there’s a lot of confusion, mixed messaging, and uncertainty around it right now.

So I’m running a completely free 45-minute webinar for paediatric occupational therapists to break down the reality of the NDIS registration process in 2026.

We’ll cover:
• registered vs unregistered providers
• who actually needs registration
• what the process involves
• audits, timelines, and costs
• common misconceptions
• what we currently know about the reforms
• and the practical considerations for paediatric OT practices

This session is designed to be practical, balanced, and honest. Not fear-based or doom and gloom. Just clear information to help you make informed decisions for your practice, team, and future.

Whether you’re considering registration, already registered, or simply trying to understand where the NDIS landscape is heading, you’re very welcome to join us.

Collaborating with Teens (and Tweens)

A practical, neuroaffirming PD for paediatric occupational therapists navigating the complexity of adolescent practice.

Explore why therapy often becomes harder during the tween and teen years, what is happening neurobiologically and emotionally for adolescents, and how to adapt your approach to better support engagement, participation, autonomy, burnout, executive functioning, identity, and real-world function.

Designed for paediatric OTs wanting practical, clinically rich strategies they can immediately apply in sessions with teens and tweens.

We’ve had a few last-minute changes, which means we now have 4 free spots available in tomorrow’s 2pm group supervision session for new graduate OTs (under 3 years experience).

Two of our regulars are unwell, and two spots opened up due to team changes, so rather than let the spaces go to waste, we’d love to offer them to anyone who could benefit.

This session will be facilitated by the incredible Leah Snowdon, an experienced OT who brings so much depth, practical knowledge, and real-world insight into these spaces. These groups are designed to feel supportive, reflective, and genuinely useful, especially in those early years of practice.

If you’re a new grad and want a space to think, reflect, ask questions, and feel a little less alone in it all, this is for you.

Send me a DM and I’ll get you booked in.

Just as a reminder, these aren’t one-off sessions. We run supervision groups monthly, including:
– New graduate OT group
– Therapy assistant group
– Experienced clinician group

We’re really passionate about creating spaces that actually support therapists

26/04/2026

Toileting is often treated as a straightforward developmental skill, but when you’re working with neurodivergent children, particularly those with a PDA profile, it quickly becomes clear that it is anything but simple. What we’re often seeing is not “refusal” or a lack of motivation, but a child navigating safety, autonomy, sensory experiences, and a nervous system that does not respond well to demand. Traditional approaches can unintentionally increase distress, escalate avoidance, and leave both families and therapists feeling stuck. This professional development is grounded in neuroaffirming, regulation-first practice and is designed to shift how we understand and approach toileting, so that we are supporting the child rather than trying to change them.

In this session, we will explore:
– why toileting can feel overwhelming or unsafe for neurodivergent children
– how a PDA profile fundamentally changes the approach
– how to reduce demand while still supporting participation and boundaries
– ways to support autonomy, regulation, and trust in the toileting process
– how to work alongside families in a way that is respectful, realistic, and sustainable

This is not about compliance or “getting them to go.” It is about understanding, adapting, and practicing in a way that truly aligns with neuroaffirming principles while still supporting meaningful outcomes.

26/03/2026

If you work with infants and families, this is the course that brings everything together in a way that actually translates into your everyday practice.

Across two full interactive sessions, we walk through development from birth to two years, not just what happens, but why it matters and what to do with it clinically.

This is not theory heavy content that sits on a shelf. It is practical, grounded, and designed for Monday morning application.

You will leave with a deeper understanding of motor, sensory, cognitive, emotional, self care and social development, along with clear frameworks for assessment and therapeutic input. There is a strong focus on early occupational engagement, caregiver coaching, and how to actually support change in real life contexts.

We also include resources, case discussions, and reflective practice so you can integrate the learning in a meaningful way.

Dates
Thursday 16th and Friday 17th April 2026
9:00am to 2:00pm AEST
Online via Zoom
Recording access available for 3 months

Regular tickets are now available at $450 until April 15.
