40 Years Ago today - July 29, 1985.
Sizzler opened their first Australian restaurant in Annerley QLD - soon spreading rapidly around the country. The last Sizzler in NSW in Campbelltown closed at the end of 2020.

R.I.P Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath singer who rose to heavy metal stardom, has died at age 76, his family says.

His family announced the rock legend's passing in a statement: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Ozzy has sold more than 100 million albums through his solo work and Black Sabbath releases. The singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame first as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006 and then again as a solo artist in 2024. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Through the television show The Osbournes, Ozzy and his family became some of the first reality TV stars across the globe.

A big congratulations to Bev Fink - Mayor's Local Hero. A well-deserved accolade at tonight's 2025 Local Celebration Awards in Penrith.
We also congratulate Citizen of the Year - Tony Fryer, Young Citizen of the Year -Amelia Grace Williams-Wilson, The Making a Difference – Community Service Award recipient - Heike Forth and Honored Citizen of the City of Penrith - Valda Silvy OAM. All well-deserved honours!

The winners of our 2025 Local Celebration Awards have been announced, and Bev Fink is our Mayor’s Local Hero 🎉

A dedicated volunteer since her son started playgroup and Secretary of the Mother's Club and P&C at Cambridge Park Public School, Bev champions education and parent engagement.

She also volunteers for the Cancer Council after battling cancer herself. Bev even helped launch the Penrith Relay for Life.
